Yesterday, we reported on a rather interesting find regarding the memory configuration of Sony’s latest flagship pair. Noticeably, the plot thickens even further today. The US, UK and Canada listings for Sony Xperia XZ2 all quote 6GB of RAM. We went over a total of four listing to confirm both phones would get the higher RAM loadout. However, it seems the XZ2 Compact variants have been back down to 4GB in the original sources.
So, to recap, the way we see things currently, it seems the XZ2 Compact will get 4GB of RAM in every market. Meanwhile, the original scoop pertained to regional XZ2 and XZ2 Compact 6GB RAM units for Hong Kong and Taiwan. Meanwhile, the other confirmed US, UK and Canada get 6GB RAM variants for XZ2 and 4GB RAM for both. Apparently, this effectively leaves EU fans at a disadvantage.
For Sony Xperia XZ2 specs, it comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD (1080 x 2160 pixels) while Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact specs get a 5-inch IPS LCD (1080 x 2160 pixels). On the other hand, both Sony Xperia XZ2 devices sport 64GB ROM (expandable up to 400GB). In addition, both Sony Xperia XZ2 camera system features a single 19MP main snapper and a 5MP selfie sensor. Under the hood, Sony Xperia XZ2 battery rocks a non-removable 3180mAh juice box, and the Compact variant rocks a battery of 2870mAh capacity. Also, both devices run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and Android 8.0 Oreo.
