This week, the Chinese company launched the first smartphone from the newly formed sub-brand “Redmi”, the Redmi Note 7. However, the brand missed out announcing an important feature of this phone, the ports and buttons have watertight seals. Now, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, confirmed that on Weibo. According to Lei Jun, this smartphone supports dust and splash protection just like the OnePlus 6/ OnePlus 6T.
However, the Redmi Note 7 isn’t IP-certified, but this phone can probably survive some splashes, accidental drops in water and everyday use in a moderate dusty environment.
