Xiaomi MIUI 10 to focus on camera enhancements and AI feature
As we have expected, Xiaomi has announced its new software MIUI 10 alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi Band 3. And it will undoubtedly arrive on most of the devices that the company has unveiled in the past four years. Although specific details at this point are somewhat scarce, Xiaomi revealed a couple of features that are going to make an appearance in MIUI 10. Most importantly, it takes power from AI and aims to eliminate load times by studying the user’s behaviour.
As well as anticipating what apps would be opened at specific times of the day. Thus, the OS will conveniently preload them to function faster. Xiaomi also demonstrated a smart assistant, but we think it will remain a China-exclusive. There’s even a new brightness slider which looks quite rad on the phone. Besides, Xiaomi unveiled a redone of recent apps menu, which looks quite sleek and functional.
The new current apps make full use of the screen space by maximising the view and supports fullscreen gestures. You can long-press each card for more options or swipe to delete the existing ones. Another pretty significant feature on Xiaomi MIUI 10 is a dedicated portrait mode, which would be available on all single- and dual-lens phones. In addition, the list of compatible phones and the update schedule will be available soon. In the meantime, check out what devices we think will arrive with the new OS HERE. Finally, Xiaomi unveiled a new app that will let you control all smart home gadgets of the Mi ecosystem with a simple tap.
Xiaomi MIUI 10 release date
When is it arriving? That’s a big question. Xiaomi disclosed a schedule, but it only applies to open and closed beta tests, so we are months away from the actual MIUI 10 OS release for the majority of devices.
