Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S camera gets Sony firmware
Based on the latest updates, an official-looking Xiaomi teaser of the Mi Mix 2S (codename “Polaris”) appeared on Weibo. In details, the video suggests a device with 6” tall screen, 18:9 ratio and Full HD resolution (2160 x 1080). On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB RAM and unexpandable 256GB ROM. Mi MIX 2S packs 3,400 mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
According to the new firmware files, the camera of the new Xiaomi phablet will have a Sony IMX363 sensor. As a result, the dual primary camera will be the first for the Mi Mix series with some AI features like scene recognition (thanks to MIUI camera app). You can find out scenes that Mi MIX 2S can identify here. Meanwhile, other features include object tracking, auto HDR and chroma flash might be disabled in this build of ROM.
As you can see, the only way for Xiaomi to fix the Mi Mix’s bottom bezel is to relocate the front-facing camera to the top right corner. Besides, the display of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S also supports with the AI-infused camera software. On the other hand, other features including dual-SIM support, IR blaster and LED for notifications are available in this upgraded version of Xiaomi Mi MIX.

For now, there is no official information about the debut of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. However, the smartphone would be limited to China and India markets.
