Xiaomi Mi A2 India arrives

After a long time waiting, Xiaomi finally launches its latest Android One smartphone in India today. Previously, the company had released a poster teasing the launch of the Mi A2. Besides, from what we gathered from the poster, the device is going to be exclusive on Amazon India. Previously, the Mi A2 pre-order page has gone live briefly ahead of the launch confirming the price tag and a few details.

As the Xiaomi Mi A2 is manufactured in India, it helps reducing tax and other importation costs. As we learned, the pre-order page was replaced with a “Notify me” page about the launch which will take place at 4 pm IST (GMT +5:30) today. Regarding Xiaomi Mi A2 specs, the phone comes with a 5.99-inch display with FHD+ resolutions.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi handset is by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and Android One OS. On the other side, the smartphone provides variable storage: 4GB RAM + 32GB/64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. As it concerns, the memory is expandable to 256GB via microSD card slot. Concerning Xiaomi Mi A2 camera, it consists of 12+20MP dual rear cameras and a 20MP snapper on the front for selfies. Also, the power box receives a measly 3010mAh capacity with Quick Charge 4.0 support (for India).

Xiaomi Mi A2 release date and price

In Spain, the Xiaomi Mi A2 price tag is way lower than the 279 euros (~$326) RRP. However, Xiaomi‘s upcoming Mi A2 was available for pre-order on Amazon for a price of Rs.17,499 (~ $255). Based on the latest report, the 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant won’t be available in India. In details, the model appeared having 64GB storage with no mention of the RAM size. Whereas, the price tag easily suggests that this can’t be the 6GB + 128GB variant which is the third variant.
