Apart from what we previously expected, Xiaomi Mi 7 display will feature a notch on its front screen according to our sources. Also, the device would equip FaceUnlock and 3D sensing camera system. Check it out!
Xiaomi Mi 7 display will get a front notch
As far as it concerns, most of the flagship smartphones in 2018 will have a notch. During the last few months, we have already seen a few Android OEMs embracing the notch. Moreover, some upcoming smartphones like the OnePlus 6, LG G7 ThinQ will likely to catch up this trend. Concerning the brand, Xiaomi expects to launch the Mi MIX 2s with a notch but gets stuck to its original MIX design.
However, it looks like Xiaomi will give the industry trend with the launch of the Mi 7. From what we learned so far, new images of the Mi 7’s tempered glass reveal that it will have a notch. The photos are taken from different angles with high resolutions giving a clear view of the Mi 7 display. In details, the glass has a cutout for a significant notch, which bigger than the ones found on the Huawei P20 Pro, Asus Zenfone 5Z or upcoming OnePlus 6.
On the other hand, the reason behind a bigger notch compared to other Android devices could be facial recognition. During the past few weeks, Mi 7 has hinted to have an iPhone X- like facial recognition system. Also, these cutouts could be for the depth-sensing shooter for Xiaomi Mi 7 camera, similar to the iPhone X. Meanwhile, a previous report claimed that 3D sensing module would be available in Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Thus, we expect to see it on the Mi 7 soon.
