Xiaomi Mi 5: shipping with fingerprint scanner??
A pattern application has just being file to the State Intellectual Property Office in China by the giant Xiaomi. The application reveals a touch buttons and fingerprint implementation method on a handset. It looks like the company is now working on its own new fingerprint scanning tech, which could possibly appear on the next flagship, Xiaomi Mi 5.
Over the year, Xiaomi has grown strongly and is making its way to a global tech company rather than Chinese OEM. The Xiaomi Mi 4 is sold well in either China and internationally and its successor, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is predicted to witness the same glory.
According to the application, there will be an additional layer of glass cover the home button which will not only add beauty to the phone but also protect all the component inside the fingerprint scanner. Touch ID sensor used on the iPhones by Apple is covered by a layer of sapphire glass.
Last month, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is reportedly coming out in Q4 2015 with high-end specs. So far, Xiaomi has not offered fingerprint scanner to any of its different kinds of products including smarphone. With this new tech, the company wouldn’t have to license ftom a third party.
“The device comprises a bottom fingerprint sensors and optical sensor provided in the terminal equipment of the cover glass; fingerprint identification circuit connected fingerprint sensor for fingerprint recognition sensor and the fingerprint information analysis and processing, obtain fingerprint analysis ; host processor, and an optical sensor and fingerprint identification circuit connections for the monitored optical sensor light information received to determine whether cover glass touch button operation; identity authentication based on fingerprint analysis results obtained fingerprint identification circuit.” – Xiaomi pattern application.
Speculated Xiaomi Mi 5 Specs
The Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.2” 2K display (2560 x 1440 pixels) and is powered by a a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdsragon 805 CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU along with 3GB RAM and 16GB/64GB of on-board storage. Keeping the light on is a generous 3600 mAh battery. Back and front cameras are of 8MP and 13MP resolution, respectively.
For the time being, Xiaomi Mi 5 release date in the Philippines and other market is not unveiled yet but surely homeland China will be the first. Along with that, Xiaomi Mi 5 Philippines retail price is expected to be similar with other markets.
