Vivo Xplay7 specs revealed
A few weeks ago, leaksters in China had claimed that Vivo would release the world’s first smartphone with 10GB of RAM later this year. Furthermore, the world’s first smartphone to feature 10GB of RAM seems to be the Vivo Xplay7. In addition, the Vivo flagship could also be the brand’s first device to run on Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship mobile SoC.
As mentioned above, the new leak out of China suggests the Vivo Xplay 7 would run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor (marketed as the Snapdragon 8150). Besides, Qualcomm’s next flagship mobile SoC enters mass production in the fourth quarter of the year. Furthermore, the chipset is fabricated by TSMC on its 7nm process node. Also, the SND 855 is the first Qualcomm chipset to have a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
Apart from massive 10GB of RAM, the Vivo Xplay 7 camera is the first to utilise Sony’s new IMX586 stacked CMOS image sensor with 48MP. In details, the new sensor has an ultra-compact pixel size of 0.8um packing onto a 1/2-type module. Furthermore, Sony claims a 4x greater dynamic range with these new sensors for a Quad Bayer colour filter array, high sensitivity and high resolution. Whereas, the Vivo phone ships with a massive 512GB of onboard storage. Notably, the Xplay 7 comes with a 4th-gen in-display fingerprint sensor. Also, the handset equips TOF 3D sensing technology that captures ten times as Face ID on the iPhone X. Whereas, Vivo Xplay 7 specs feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, with the resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. Also, the Vivo phone has Android 8.0 Oreo and 4100mAh battery.
Vivo Xplay7 release date and price
According to some updates, Vivo plans to introduce the Xplay 7 in the last week of December. Otherwise, it is expected to go on sale in China starting early January next year. Furthermore, we do expect the Xplay 7 to be launched in India a few weeks after its debut in China. As for Vivo Xplay7 price tag, the handset is priced at 4,998 yuan, which translates to Rs.51,300. In general, that is not very high when considering the extremely impressive hardware specifications of the smartphone.
