Samsung Galaxy View: Huge 18.4 inch display and tiny 5700 mAH?
What do you think of when you hear the word “tablet”? Usually a mobile that is bigger than a smartphone but still smaller than an average laptop, right? How about a tablet with a super screen as huge as 18.4 inch. Yes, there is that thing available for now, made by Samsung: the Samsung Galaxy View.
1. Samsung Galaxy View specs
The device was rumored for a while, and has gone official when it was spotted on an online retailer in the USA: the Adorama. Below you can find official Samsung Galaxy View specs:
– Display: 18,4 inch TFT screen, FHD
– Chip set: Exnos 7580, octa core, clocked at 1,6GHz
– RAM: 2GB, internal storage: 32GB expandable to 128GB
– Camera (main only), 2,1MP, capable of FHD video record
– Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wifi, optional 3G version
– OS: Android Lollipop
– Battery: 5700 mAH, said to work up to 8,5h on video playing mode
The Samsung Galaxy View price on Adorama is USD 600 for the 32GB and wifi-only version, which is still cheaper than a 32GB Apple iPad Pro.
2. Samsung Galaxy View: what are the uses
As the name suggests, the Galaxy View is targeted as a “mobile television” device that can go with you anywhere and everywhere. Actually, on their official page, Samsung featured many promotional picture of the Galaxy View in different cases where users can watch their favorite programs with it.
However, I have read more controversial comment about the usefulness of this huge device. People are arguing that, what is the point of producing such a huge tablet, when its screen is even bigger than a laptop? Secondly, if it is featured to be a “television”, will FHD be enough to max the enjoyment? Next, though Samsung claimed that the battery can work up to 8,5 hours on video playing mode, will 5,700 mAH really be enough for such bulky display? And last but not least, though $600 is cheaper than the price of an iPad Pro, it is not actually a very affordable price range. Then why would any consumer feel compelled to buy such a product?
What is your opinion? Having known everything about the Samsung Galaxy View specs and price, do you think this could catch your attention and worth your money? Share with us if you have any other idea about how this Galaxy View can be outstanding among others 🙂
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge concept: Breathtakingly beautiful design
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has brought Samsung great success and a good sign showing that they are using the right material and design for their smartphones. And if the company is working on a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to launch with Samsumg Galaxy S7 in the future, it is not something much surprising. However, the question is that whether S7 edge can be as successful as its predecessor?
There are still several months before the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge release date, but many Samsung fans cannot wait to see it in real life. As a result, concepts for S7 edge were born to satisfy people’s desire as well as curiosity.
Here we got one and a special thing about it is that Galaxy S7 Edge takes the trapezoid shape, looking pretty similar to a device in a Samsung’s recent patent. In the pictures, we see that extra display space replaces bezels on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and almost move to the top and the bottom of the device.
In general, the handset seems strong and sturdy even without the physical home button. The rear camera is designed in a beautiful way and it seems hard for the cam’s lens to be scratched or damaged. On the other hand, there are volume control buttons placed on one side of the phone.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge specs, we are not aware of much information about them but prediction is that S7 edge features will be similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 specs. For example, it can boast a Force Touch-like display, a USB Type-C port, fast charging and data transferring tech (those are what we heard about the Galaxy S7 specifications).
In the end, though it is a concept, we hope that it will come true since the design is gorgeous. Don’t you think?
5 best smartphones for LTE network: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leading
Many smartphones these days are launched with 4G LTE support. However, not all of them work really fast on those network connectivity. Especially for people who are on regular travelling or live in areas with unstable internet (like, hmm, in the Philippines).
Therefore, one of the question being frequently asked is, which are the best smartphones for LTE. That is also the reason why I came up with this article about 5 of the best you can find in our market today.
In order to find out the best 5 smartphones that support fast and smooth network, a test has been carried out. I found this piece of information about the test on Androidauthority, and here is their exact quoting about the test
N.B. All handsets were tested using the same network – EE, which supports speeds of up to 300Mbps in the London area – and at the exact same time. The results below are based on a sample of 52 tests in 11 different areas spanning a distance of 170 miles.
Some of the areas being test include but not limited to Network Switch Rate, Antenna Strength, LTE Speed test etc. Here are the results posted on the blog
1. Network Switching rate (The lower is the better)
2. Average speed (The faster is the better)
3. Final result – ranking
After processing different test results, Androidauthority came up with the convincing final ranking. Base on the table above, you can see that Galaxy Note 5 from Samsung is the best device to support LTE network, follow by, surprisingly, LG G4 and Moto X Style. Ranked 4th and 5th in the list are iPhone 6S and Sony Xperia Z5 respectively.
However, please keep in mind that, although there is the best and second best, all 5 devices in this list are among the most premium smartphones in our market these days. Moreover, the result is quite close, so I would say they are fairly similar to each other in terms of the ability to support LTE network.
Take a look, and share to those this piece of information may help. Because good connection on a mobile phone can always make your busy life easier.
Samsung Galaxy S7 specs will come with three different chips!
Lately, a piece of information has mentioned that Samsung is very optimistic about the future of the new Exynos 8890 chipset with Mongoose CPU. It will give high productivity and be used for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. However, another source has informed that Samsung Galaxy S7 will not only be run by the Exynos 8890; there are up to 3 variants with 3 different processors…
It is said that Samsung Galaxy S7 will not only be run by the Exynos 8890!
Yes, it is said that Samsung will probably offer 3 versions of Samsung Galaxy S7 perhaps in order to satisfy more types of consumers. Moreover, Samsung has planned to add the Exynos 7422 chip into Samsung Galaxy S7 Specs for Indian market, and Exynos 8890 (as known as Exynos M1 achieving some super impressive scores in benchmark testing) for Korean, Japanese and European ones. Meanwhile, the well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 will also appear in another ver for American and Chinese markets.
If everything turns out to be true, it can be the first time Samsung releases a flagship with 3 different chips. Yet, we wonder if that is a wise strategy or not when they do something unusual.
We are not sure whether Samsung Galaxy S7 launch date will happen in early 2016 and reach consumers by the end of the Quarter 1, 2016. Though, in the end, no matter how hard the company is trying to introduce their device as soon as possible, it has to take some more months until the phone is completed. And things can change! Well, what do you think about the above idea? And which one would you like to choose? Share with us your opinions 😉 !
Huawei develops a stylus-toting Galaxy Note 5 rival: 5GB RAM, 16MP camera, Exynos 7420
Just very recently, Huawei smartphone launched Mate S with multi-functional fingerprint sensor to beat iPhone 6S. Huawei called it “the incredible touch” or “force touch”, which is one of the main selling points of this Huawei Mate S flagship. Beside Huawei, Apple iPhones are known as the only smartphones to feature force touch.
Even though the Huawei Mate S has been launched just for a short while, it seems that Huawei doesn’t have the intention to stop pursuing high-end flagship market. The company is even working on a new smartphone project. And we have already spotted some interesting information.
From our sources, Huawei is targeting at making a strong rival directly to Samsung-made Galaxy Note 5, even equipped with the same stylus pen Note 5 is using. From what we heard, it even seems like Huawei is cooperating with Wacom Stylus (producer for Galaxy Note 5’s pen) to order a tailor-made touch pen for their upcoming device.
If our logic goes right, Huawei aims at competing with and surpassing especially Galaxy Note 5 this time. If so, they need to power their new Huawei smartphone with as good or even better specs than Samsung. Moreover, these specs must be in the same category or produced by the same suppliers, to make it easier to compare and the game more intense. This explains that we can totally expect Huawei will give up their signature Kirin 950 processor on this new smartphone and may go with Exynos 7420.
Some outstanding Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs we can predict to see in this new Huawei smartphone
– 4GB RAM
– Exynos 7420 chip set
– 5.7” with Super AMOLED display
– 16MP rear camear / 5MP front camera
– 3000 mAH (3,000 mAH is not impressive but real life test proved it can last up to 9 hours 11 minutes)
So, if they are ambitious enough and want to win this game, the new Huawei smartphone specs need to come with a very premium combination: 4GB RAM (or 5GB RAM), Exynos 7420 or stronger, 16 – 21MP and over 4000 mAH.
Samsung’s foldable smartphone “Project Valley” set for January
Smartphones nowadays are amazing! They developed from a call-text device into a “smart” handset that can handle so many things in our life: internet, photography, work, study, entertainment, research etc. And they just keep becoming more and more awesome from time to time. What do you think if in the near future, your smartphone can fold in half just like a handy book? And of course, still “smart” and still go with touch screen. I mean, in the really near future, like in 2016?
Samsung foldable phone: foldable screen, smart and still touchable
Yes, such device is being tested by the Korean Giant : Samsung Mobile. According to SamMobile – the reliable Samsung rumor blog, the company will introduce functional foldable devices in 2016. Following that, most recent rumor even suggested that the first “member” in that collection will be a smartphone with plastic display. That is where the foldable smartphone come in, with a code name of Project Valley, and has already caught much attention over the internet the such unique idea.
It seems like that Samsung is actually testing the new foldable smartphone in China right now. There are 2 hardware editions being experimented: one with Snapdragon 620 and the other with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor. If everything goes right, it is very possible that Samsung Mobile will release their foldable smartphone as early as in January 2016.
Samsung foldable phone: what to be expected?
Some of Samsung foldable phone specs we know for now include: 3GB of RAM, a microSD card slot (is it their experience of how the public react with the Galaxy Note 5? ) and a non-removable battery. We don’t know further about this foldable smartphone battery capacity yet. However, by supporting both removable battery and memory card slot, Samsung foldable smartphone already has some benefits over others, especially when more and more smartphone producers tend to for-go these features.
For your interest, this is not the first time Samsung ever try on these kind of bendable smartphone screen though. Back in 2013, the Korean Giant tempted to demonstrate their Youm flexible OLED displays but did not succeed in really producing it.
For this time, the situation looks much brighter. Let’s wait and see if Samsung will bring this foldable smartphone into life this January 2016? Are you excited? Keep updating with us for further information.

Smartphones with CRAZILY EXPENSIVE price: PHP 30K and above
We love smartphones for what they have done to make our life easier and more convenient. We update ourselves often with smartphone news in our market and around the world. But after all, what we tend to care most is inevitably the price tag. We set a budget, start looking for a device, and choose the best offer out of the basket. That is exactly the reason why affordable smartphones always have their decent shares in the market.
However, there are also a lot of other premium smartphones that carry very premium specs, but in return, attached with a hefty price tag. Recently, what are the most expensive smartphones in our market and what do they have feature such a gigantic money? Let’s take a look at these following to find out
1. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
Very recently we just had the official update of Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price and release date. In the announcement, we got to know that Xperia Z5 Premium price in Philippines will be PHP 44K.
What make Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price to be that hefty is that, it is the first smartphone in the world to feature spectacular 4K display. Other Xperia Z5 Premium specs are … premium too: 3GB RAM, 23MP with fast focus of 0.03s, Snapdragon 810, 4K display and 3,450 mAh battery.
We know Sony and their product quality already. However, will many people be willing to pay such huge money to experience this technology pioneer?
2. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge can be considered one of the most signature smartphone devices up to now. The reason? It has beautiful curved screen that went oppositely to the norm when it was first introduced. While many argued the S6 Edge screen doesn’t look elegant, others went (and still go) crazy for it.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge specs contain the best Samsung can offer: Super AMOLED display, Exynos 7420 chipset, 3GB RAM and 16MP camera. However, with only 2,600 mAh, the S6 Edge battery is a concern when people come to judge this phone.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge price in Philippines starts from PHP 35K. Not a small money eh?
3. Apple iPhone 6S Plus
Recently launched, promoted considerably by Apple, the iPhone 6S Plus is one of the heated debates for the past days. Android fans (and Android smartphone producers) mock the iPhone 6S Plus for small 2GB RAM and “tiny” battery capacity of under 2000 mAH. iPhone users made their points of how superior the 6S Plus can be regardless of the specs figures.
For now, we don’t know about the official iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines yet. But considering the iPhone 6 price in Philippines: (PHP 31K – PHP 42K), we guess the iPhone 6S Plus price in Philippines can possibly be around PHP 50K. WOW!!
4. Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is Samsung’s latest flagship device. It has been crowned the best display ever found in any smartphone. The device even impressed users and tech geeks by lasting up to 9 hours and 11 minutes of performance in the battery test, even though the Note 5 battery capacity is only 3000 mAH.
However, good as it may sounds, the Note 5 showed its imperfection by not featuring microSD card, which is a need many users share.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 price in Philippines is up to PHP 37K
5. HTC One M9
HTC One M9 is an example for the saying “Less expectation, less disappointment”. The One M9 used to be HTC’ long awaited flagship. Everyone was looking forward to its release. But then, the smartphone turned out not as good, featuring good but not enough to impress users compared to its price tag.
HTC One M9 specs include: 3GB RAM, 20MP, 2840 mAH and Snapdragon 810.

Huawei’s curved screen smartphone will sport a 2k AMOLED display?
Huawei, who just releases Huawei Mate S at IFA 2015, is reportedly said to be making a curved screen smart phone. And yes, we have been seeing the news since last month. However, this time, not only does Huawei make it a curved screen, but also equip it with 2K resolution. Moreover, the display is an AMOLED.
Huawei’s working on a 2K AMOLED display with curved edges for smart phones?
If this is true, then we could expect this phone to be released in the first half of 2016. Imagine Huawei releases a curved screen smart phone with specs of a flagship, and rivals with Samsung’s Edge series! Moreover, as Xiaomi also has plans for an Edge smart phone, we will have more and more unique devices in the market sporting Samsung’s idea of a display.
It seems Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has made the trend for future smart phones!
Huawei does not give any information about the phone’s specs, or what size this display will be. However, as mobile manufacturers are competing with each other on every aspects, we expect the new phone will sport good hardware. For example, it needs at least of 4GB RAM and 5000mAH for such a 2k display.
Since Huawei has not launched any device with QHD resolution yet, we cannot say how good the phone will be. However, as Huawei is the 3rd largest mobile manufacturer now, the company may have boosted their products onto a better level. Many sources state that Huawei is planning to produce around 3 million units of curved screen phone. Therefore, we hope the phone will have a competitive price also.
Price Pony readers, what do you think about this? Will you buy a curved screen smart phone from Huawei? Or is Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ still the best in your heart? Leave us a comment.
Xperia Z5 vs 4 other cameraphone flagships: real photos comparison
In the smartphone market, Sony has always had their name mentioned when it comes to premium camera sensors. At IFA 2015 just several days ago, Sony wowed the whole expo by launching a 23 MP Exmor RS sensor for their latest Xperia Z5 smartphone.
We bet many of you are very curious about how pictures taken by a 23MP sensor with super fast 0.03s auto focus are like. To provide you with a fuller picture of Sony Xperia Z5 camera, we have here real pictures in comparison: Sony Xperia Z5 vs 4 other cameraphone flagships: iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6, Sony Xperia Z3 and LG G4

Samsung flip phone hands-on: 3.9”, 2GB, 16MP & 2020mAh
Samsung has listed a flip phone model on its official site not so long ago, called SM-G9198. The Samsung SM-G9198 flip phone looks actually great in real life photos. Moreover, it has great specs despite its “old” design type. We did an article on the flip smart phone before, but it was only with render and commercial site photos. This time, we bring you Samsung SM-G9198 live images, to see how good it really is.
Samsung SM-G9198 specs
Samsung SM-G9198 display is a 3.9” AMOLED screen, which has become a Samsung’s trademark. As you can see in the photo above, the display is enough for the most basic operations. Moreover, it also sports Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection, something even high end smart phones, like a Sony Xperia, do not have.
Samsung SM-G9198 is power by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and 2GB RAM. It also gives you 16GB of internal storage to use, and an extra 128GB if you use microSD card. Samsung SM-G9198 battery is a 2020mAh one, which is large for a flip smart phone. Moreover, it is a removable battery, so there is no need to worry about power lacking.
Samsung SM-G9198 camera is a HUGE 16MP sensor, which rivals even the camera on Samsung’s flagship – Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Not only will you have a nicely designed phone, but also a great snapper as well.
Additionally, Samsung SM-G9198 camera has a 6MP front sensor, which is even better for those who would want to take good selfies.
Until now there is no word on Samsung SM-G9198 release date. However, we guess Samsung SM-G9198 price in the Philippines will be around PHP 15k when it comes here.
You can check out more live images of the phone below, or take a look at this LG’s flip phone, which also aims at users who want to have a nostalgic feeling of the past.
