Samsung unveil Exynos 7870 for budget smartphones: 16MP and 8MP selfie

j5-review-design-9-720x405

Thanks to Samsung Exynos 7870, mid-range phones can have 16MP rear and front cams?

Samsung is not only a smartphone producer but also a processor manufacturer. Last year, they launched Exynos 7420, which is known as the company’s leading 14nm FinFET chip and used for high-end devices such as the flagship Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge Plus, etc. That was 2015. This year, the firm has announced a similar 14nm chipset, yet for mid-range handsets. It is named Samsung Exynos 7870.

Speaking more specifically, the Exynos 7870 consists of eight 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores and acts as an energy efficient chip for the mid-rangers, according to Samsung. In other words, moving to 14nm manufacturing is to improve performance and power efficiency. Samsung reports that their 7870 processor consumes approximately 30 percent less power than other machines packing 28nm chipset based on High-k Metal Gate process tech.

In addition, the Exynos 7870 supports high-end modem, display and camera components. To be specific, Category 6 LTE modem with 2 band carrier aggregation and speeds at 300Mbps download, and capability of 1080p 60fps video playback on displays with up to 1920×1200 resolution are included. Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 to get “Always on display” feature

Always on display is not exactly the newest feature we see on smartphones. But it must the the newest piece of information to be announcing that both Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 flagships will be equipping the function.

Always on display coming to crucial flagships of 2016

A while after we first heard about Always on display being featured on Samsung Galaxy S7 through a leak from Evan Blass, Samsung has now trademarked the term to use for the their upcoming flagship, with will be soon announced at MWC 2016, happening on February 21 in Barcelona. The same thing comes to LG G5. A week before its initial debut, also at MWC, LG revealed that their high-end smartphone will be supporting Always On mode

The Always On/ or Always On Display mode allows notifications to be displayed on the screen without turning it on. Other necessary information like weather, calendar, or other as customized by users will also be “always” shown. Such function has been found in Motorola devices, Google’s latest Nexus phones and Apple iPhone before. And now, the feature is arriving on crucial flagships of 2016, like Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5.

LG-G5-Always-On-01

By now, you may be wondering about the smartphone battery life. Would a feature that runs almost all the time drain out your battery fast? Don’t worry, both companies have confirmed that the Always On Display mode will ultilize minimum amount of power and won’t affect much to the longevity of your battery.

Always on display mode: making it more convenient for users

While on LG G5, a leaked has shown a picture of the Always On mode to give us an idea of how the feature will be working, Samsung hasn’t clarify whether theirs will be a full screen display or something smaller, like the of a LG V10’s secondary display. All in all, this is an interesting function that can make life even more comfortable for us all.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro will be a Windows Phone?

It’s been a very long time since we last saw a Samsung product running on Windows OS. According to the latest news, perhaps Samsung’s Windows Phone will come back this year under the name Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro…

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro offering Windows 10 Mobile is a great idea?

Recently, SamMobile has posted a model considered as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro with code name SM-9100. Furthermore, the handset is also said to be brought to India for experts to test and it will come out soon this year. Obviously, SM-9100 can totally be an advanced variant of Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016), whose code name is SM-9000. But, we feel a bit strange about the “Pro” because most Samsung enhanced devices usually go with “Plus”.

As a result, many people deduce that Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro will be running on Windows 10 Mobile of Microsoft, just like Samsung Galaxy TabPro S tablet also named with “Pro” and it is equipped with Windows OS. Though, the manufacturer has not confirmed anything yet. What we’ve known so far is that Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro specs will be likely to pack a big 6.0-inch Full HD screen (similar to the Samsung Galaxy A9 display) plus a Snapdragon 652 (4 x 1.8GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz) chip to be basic.

A9_01

Other specifications may include 3GB of RAM and a battery capable of at least 4,000mAh. Apart from them, there’s no word made for the rest. Actually, we think if Samsung decides to retain almost all of the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) specs, OS can be the main difference and help enrich consumers’ choice.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro price and availability

Basing on what we know of Samsung Galaxy A series in general and Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016) in particular, the A9 Pro will probably also debut in China first with a price tag of about $500. And besides, there can be 2 version of the Pro: one with Android and the other with Windows. Yet, let’s wait a bit more for the firm’s officially announcement.

Antutu Benchmark, the famous testing platform, has announced the top 10 smartphones that are most frequently checked on their site, aka top 10 popular smartphones in the world, Q4 2015

10 most popular smartphones of Q4 2015: the result is … surprising

In our technology world, there are certain smartphone producers that always stand in the top choices among users, like Apple, Samsung etc. And the report from Antutu made sure to surprise some of us with the unexpected result of those most popular devices. Let’s see what people in the world had come to Antutu to check. With 5.79% and 4.68%, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rank at top 2 among the 10. Seems like Samsung smartphones is really a big thing in any market.

However, Asus Zenfone 2 – known as one of the best budget smartphones worldwide, only ranked 7th out of 10, which surprises quite a lot of people. The same happens with Huawei Mate 8 when only ranking 9th out of 10. Among the 10 devices listed in the list, you can also notice the absence of some big brands like Sony, Apple and Lenovo and the dominance of Chinese smartphones compared to others (8 Chinese in total)

antutu_top_10_2015

Many people are mentioning that, because Antutu is a Chinese Benchmark, the result is somewhat affected more by Chinese users and those from the same areas. Yes, we are not denying this. In fact, any test result can be very relative. What we want to say here is that, for a famous Benchmark used by the majority of users, the recorded figures of top 10 popular smartphones could be very unpredictable.

10 most popular smartphones of Q4 2015: Samsung leading the top

With 2 smartphones winning the top places, Samsung definitely did a great job. The company has been, is and will be one of the most favorite smartphone producers for many of us. We are excited to see more. For the rest 8 devices, how many of you are using those? If you are, please share with us how much you love your choice

Samsung Galaxy Note 6: introducing the first Phabtop ever

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will definitely be a flagship smartphone, that is nothing to argue. But the most interesting thing we want you to know is just about to be unveiled right here: it seems very likely that the handset will be a hybrid between a phablet and laptop, giving birth to a whole new definition: phabtop. So, what is a phabtop and what does Samsung Galaxy Note 6 have to come up with a whole new category for our smartphone industry? You will find out just now

According to Patently Mobile, Samsung, with a new patent, is going to turn Galaxy Note 6 into a laptop in the shape and size of a smartphone, when the device is put in a dock. Therefore, the smartphone will have a touchpad, keyboard and a specially processor. If you look at the picture, the smartphone can fit perfectly into a laptop, sync and power the device like a CPU. That being said, if nothing changes, Samsung has just “created” a whole new definition to our technology world – a smartphone which has a size of a tablet (smartphone + tablet = phablet) and work under the patent of a laptop (phablet + laptop = phabtop).

samsung-galaxy-s7-premium-concept

In order to make that possible, the Galaxy Note 6 will run over Windows OS when being installed to the dock, and work like an Android phone for normal use. What a crazy yet brilliant idea, don’t you think? For long, Samsung has always been one of the top choices among our market. If this Galaxy Note 6 turns out true as what we know for now, it will definitely make a new hit.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6: working as a laptop, looking like a smartphone.

Another source, the TechTimes has added in to confirm the rumors, by saying Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will probably feature 8GB RAM and 16 core processor. This is a huge combination of specs and would impress any user out there, even the most difficult ones. Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) coming with 3GB RAM and 4300 mAH

Samsung is being the topic to talk about these days, since they launched their Galaxy A series and thanks to all the round-up of Galaxy S7 flagship. For right now, the company is revealing a new offer – the Samsung Galaxy J7, 2016 version

samsung-galaxy-j5-5

Samsung Galaxy J7 : battery flagship with a strong RAM

To kick off the year 2016, Samsung already launched to the market 2 mid-rangers: the Galaxy J2 and the Galaxy J5. Samsung Galaxy J7 is believed to be the next smartphone of this Galaxy J series by one of the most popular smartphone producers in the world – Samsung. Together with the rumor, some of Samsung Galaxy J7 specs are also unveiled so that users around the world can have an idea of what to expect for this device.

Specs-wise, the Galaxy J7 will have a 5.5 inch FHD display – which is the most popular smartphone screen right now. The phone will be powered by 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 650 SoC. From the kernel code, seems like the J7 will have a fingerprint sensor and  sport a huge 4,300 mAH battery. Maybe this is not bigger than any other battery beast, but considering Samsung smartphones usually come with small power capacity, a 4,300 mAH battery is pretty much appreciated.

Samsung-Galaxy-J7-01

Samsung Galaxy J7 cameras are also very nice for a mid-ranger, featuring 13MP on the back and 5MP on the front. Needless to say, all of these specs are yet to be finalized and can go under changes until its official launch date. Let’s see if the phone can turn out attractive to all of us and compete with other fellows released the same time.

Samsung Galaxy J7: Samsung’s expansion to the budget market

Although there is no word about the Galaxy J7 price yet, we guess it will belong to the mid-ranger category. With the movement to a bigger battery capacity, Samsung is trying to make their products even more varied to meet up different kinds of customer’s demands.

Samsung Galaxy S7 can play 17 hours of video with max brightness, challenge accepted

Samsung Galaxy S7 is around the corner. Moreover, a new interesting discovery of it has been told, promising to surprise you all. Check it out now!

Galaxy-S6-Concept-Design-2

Samsung Galaxy S7 will last much longer than the S6!

According to recent news, Samsung will also make Samsung Galaxy S7 battery non-removable like its predecessor Samsung Galaxy S6. To be honest, a lot of people, including us, have been not very happy with the company’s decision. But, when the following latest piece of information came out, we thought it would not be so bad. Eldar Murtazin, a well-known Russian blogger in the leaksphere, claimed that Galaxy S7 was able to play about 17 hours of video with full brightness.

At first, we were pretty shocked to know since basing on what Samsung Galaxy S6 can do (around 5 hours of screen-on time for regular usage), it was hard to believe. Yet, nothing is impossible, right?! In this case, its battery is taken into consideration. Nonetheless, despite sporting a larger cell compared to the S6, it still seems not enough for Galaxy S7 to reach such longevity. So, perhaps there will be special software optimization or new battery tech on board to help do that.

3602989_image

On the other hand, some think it can be the 2nd-gen 14nm FinFET process in the chip Samsung is going to equip their flagship with, which sounds more… realistic. But, maybe it’s too soon to conclude anything. Let’s look forward to the groundbreaking innovations the manufacturer will be introducing to us at Samsung Galaxy S7 launch.

Samsung Galaxy S7 release date has been fixed!

Not long ago, Samsung sent out media invitations and a brief trailer for their Unpacked Event, taking place at Mobile World Congress 2016 at 7 p.m. CET on February 21. The accompanying hashtag #TheNextGalaxy obviously hints at the duo Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge while the clip looks to be new Samsung Gear VR. Wow, so excited to wait for them.

And you would find it pretty cool when knowing that Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) price is $117.

About Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) specs, what we’ve got so far is that it will boast a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a Snapdragon 410 chip, 16GB ROM (expandable), 2GB RAM, a 13MP/5MP camera set, and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
