Galaxy Note7 will stop packing Samsung SDI batteries
In case you missed, Samsung has just announced an international Samsung Galaxy Note7 recall because of the recent explosion scandal. And now it looks like the brand has come up with a solution! Let’s have a look!
Samsung Galaxy Note7: the temporary removal of Samsung-made battery
At least 35 models of Samsung Galaxy Note7 have been reported to catch fire and explode while being charged. This is a very huge number and of course a huge scandal for a brand-new smartphone in the market. To deal with it, Samsung have decided to announce an international Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall. In the mean time, the Korean brand have investigated the cause of the problem and today, there is an answer.
The battery of most Samsung devices is provided by different suppliers, including Samsung SDI – a sub company of the Korean giant. According to the reports, this sub company is the one that produced the batteries that lead to Note 7 explosion. After finding out the cause, Samsung also decided to stop using batteries from this manufacturer until they figure out what’s wrong with the production line.
This will be a great challenge for the brand, as Samsung SDI produces around 70% of batteries in Samsung Galaxy Note7. The other 30% were made by Amperex Technology – a branch of Japan’s TDK Corp. This Japanese has claimed that they only provide batteries for Note 7 units in Chinese market, which is the only one that is not affected by the global recall.
Samsung Galaxy Note7: Will the brand make it?
For those who haven’t know yet, Kog Dong Jin – Samsung smartphone business head has shared that this recall will lead to a huge loss in the company’s profit. This loss is speculated to be around 1 billion USD! But it looks like this recall is the best thing Samsung can do right now. Let’s wait and see if this Korean brand will survive this scandal or not. Are you still team Samsung?

Recall Galaxy Note 7 due to battery explosion
Samsung has made a big surprise when they decided to recall Galaxy Note 7 in the global market. This causes an enormous loss for the biggest Korean giant. Let’s see the reason behind it!
Samsung recall Galaxy Note 7: the biggest tech recall!
About three weeks ago, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 started to be sold to the smartphone market and has brought huge success for the company. However, before it could make a hit in India market, Samsung decided to recall Galaxy Note 7 globally. This could be the biggest recall in tech history. The reason comes from the battery catching fire incidents. At present, Samsung is investigating for the exact cause of these cases.
Until now, there are 35 cases of battery bug on Galaxy Note 7. Although the main reason for this problem hasn’t been found, the company stopped all sale as well as replaced all devices already sold. Specifically, Samsung will need to recall and replace batteries in over 2 Million Galaxy Note 7 handsets, along with a change of the production process, before reselling this flagship.
The phone was expected to create big revenue for Samsung in 2016, and help Samsung get over its rival-Apple. Actually, Samsung completed that goal when they create a big revenue through this phone. But now, on the opposite, the recall causes huge loss for Samsung. Moreover, this incident will definitely affect the reputation the company is trying to build.
How to exchange the faulty Galaxy Note 7?
Next week, Samsung will have fixed the battery bug and give users alternative products. Besides, users also have other options: Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, if they still don’t feel safe with Galaxy Note 7. Samsung will refund the difference in price between the two devices. As Samsung announced, Note 7’s users can return the handset in retail stores or contact directly with Samsung. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery test: Surprising result!
A Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery test has just been conducted by phoneareana.com. Besides Note 7, many other flagships also participated! Let’s take a look at the result!
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery test: Surprising result
To be more specific, joining Samsung Galaxy Note 7 today are its predecessors including Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge; and some of its rivals in the market including Apple iPhone 6s Plus, HTC 10, OnePlus 3 and LG G5. The first impression of the result is that there is a steady progress with Samsung devices through the years. Note 3, with 3200mAh battery, only lasts for 6 hours 8 minutes while Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery, with 3500mAh capacity, lasts for 9 hours 49 minutes.
We also tested Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery the Snapdragon version, but the result was 7 hours 55 minutes, much worse than that of the Exynos version. Such gap is due to the fact that the Exynos chipset include two quad-core processors, one with high clock speed which is only used for handling heavy tasks, the other with low clock speed for dealing simple tasks without consume much of the battery. On the other hand, Snapdragon 820 chipset has a single quad-core processor with high clock speed for all tasks.
Also according to the result, iPhone 6s Plus, with 2750mAh battery, remains “alive” for the same period of time as the… Galaxy Note 5: 9 hours 11 minutes. Besides, HTC 10, with 3000mAh battery, lasts 7 hours 10 minutes; OnePlus 3, also with 3000mAh cell, stays alive for 5 hours 53 minutes and LG G5, with 2800mAh battery, survives 5 hours 51 minutes.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery tests: Capacity is not the only thing that counts
So according to the test, Note 7 the Exynos chipset has beaten all other flagships in terms of battery. Many of you may claim that this victory is obvious cause the capacity of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery is higher than all the others. Or you may say that iPhone is the real winner because with only 2750mAh battery, it lasts 9 hours and 11 minutes! In fact, we need to consider both the capacity and the specs. iPhone lasts for a long period of time with its 2750mAh battery because it comes with a dual-core processor and 5.5-inch full HD display. Meanwhile, Note 7 packs an octa-core processor and 5.7-inch 2k display, which makes Note 7’s victory very convincing.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire – literally!
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire- it is nothing new. It has been making headlines in recent weeks. However, there’s a case of a Galaxy Note 7 catching fire physically – and it’s not a joke! Let’s take a look at this story, shall we?
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire: What caused this?
As we all know, Samsung has been in the spotlight recently. The Galaxy Note 7 hype is unbelievable, we can see headlines like “Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire” everywhere. However, besides all the good things that have already been said and reported, this news is a little bit unpleasant for Samsung. Some images on the Chinese social media website Baidu showed us a Galaxy Note 7, only a few weeks old – as the poster claimed, burnt and damaged heavily after what seems to be an explosion.
What caused the explosion to make this Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire? Nothing is certain at this point, and there’s not much information about this case. However, from the pictures, we can see that the holder of the damaged Note 7 (we assumed that to be the owner too) used Micro USB to USB-C adapter. And apparently, the adapter caught on fire.
For this “Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire” story, there are some explanations. First, of course, is the use of third-party charging wires and adapters, which many manufacturers advise against doing so. Also, the phablet in question may not even be a legit Note 7 – on the front, there’s no Samsung logo above the screen. Furthermore, Note 7 is not even officially released to customers yet (customers who pre-ordered will receive the device early September), only a handful of reviewers got their hands on this device. The last theory is that the fault lies in Samsung’s device. If this is the case, it would be big trouble for the Korean giant manufacturer.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire: Should you worry about this?
In any case, you shouldn’t panic just yet. For now, this is the only report of a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on fire. And it is very likely that this is not because of Samsung, but rather third-party manufacturers (wires, adapters, even fake Note 7). Even if this is truly Samsung’s fault, we believe that they will take appropriate action to prevent this from happening. So for now, let’s just wait and anticipate the release of Note 7, which will be very soon. Stay tune with us for more updates!

It’s LG X Power. Surprised, right?! PhoneArea has just done a battery life test of some popular smartphones in the market. And the result is that LG X Power is the winner with the score of 15 hours and 18 minutes.
The test was conducted by letting the devices run on a web-script. This program is made double the consumption of the usage. And all phones were set at the brightness of 200 nits. Standing the second place is also a strange name – BLU Studio Energy. Xiaomi phones with Redmi 3S and Mi Max are in the fourth and fifth spot. These next positions belong to the two flagships of Samsung: Galaxy S7 and Note 7. iPhone 6s Plus and Moto G4 spot on the last slots.
LG X Power: a great deal for a great battery
Congratulation goes to LG X Power. It surpasses all the tough competitors to be on the top of the list. However, the other LG X Power specs are not that impressive. It features a 5.3-inch screen, a quad-core MT6753 processor with Android Marshmallow, a 2GB RAM paired with a 16GB ROM, and a combo of 5MP+13MP cameras. So, if you’re just looking a cheap smartphone with a great battery, LG X Power is your proper choice. LG X Power price comes at about $201 ~Rs. 13,490
