Refurbished Note 7 will be back on sale!

Refurbished Note 7 will be back on sale!

Previously, there have been reports of Samsung seemingly going to sell refurbished Note 7 again, after the mass recall from the exploding incidents. That piece of news has now been confirmed by the Korean company itself. Samsung has recently put out a press release, saying that the company is now focusing on “recycling” the piles of returned Note 7 units that is in the company’s possession, following last year’s mass recall.

According to Samsung, the first step to do that will be refurbishing units, or renting them (whatever that may mean). In the second step, the company plans to disassemble and salvage usable components from the phones, for reusability purposes. In the final step, if nothing works out, the company will dispose of the unusable units and components with environmental friendly methods. That is the gist of a long and meticulous plan from Samsung.

refurbished note 7

About the sale of the refurbished Note 7, the company has not given the public any details on when, how, and where will the distribution be. Samsung only hinted that it is working with regulatory bodies as well as carriers to reach a conclusion. Local demand will also be one of the considerations. The time, as well as markets to release the refurbished units, will be determined accordingly. There have been speculations that these refurbished Note 7 will be sold in emerging markets such as India and Vietnam. There may be some changes as well, such as smaller battery, and even a name change!

Refurbished Note 7: Can it save Note 7’s reputation?

Regardless of what happened, the Note 7 was still a flagship of high quality when it was introduced. Hopefully with the refurbished Note 7, Samsung can salvage its reputation, along with the help of the coming Galaxy S8. Are you willing to buy a refurbished Note 7?

Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight Apple in court

It’s the patent war all over again. But it involves more than two giant tech companies now. This time, Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight against Apple in court.

Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight Apple in court

Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight Apple in court

Nokia has sued Apple in Germany and the US for infringement of a number of its patents. Apple has already been a Nokia Patents licensee since 2011. But this patent licensing agreement ended on December 31 2016. Under terms of this agreement, Apple paid one time huge sum and was committed to pay ongoing royalties to Nokia. However, Apple has declined to continue paying. Since Apple Products still infringe Nokia patents, Nokia has decided to take Apple to court.

Now, Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight against Apple. Here is the Nokia’s formal request to the Court. “Petitioner Nokia Technologies Oy (“Nokia”), the Complainant in Certain Electronic Devices, Including Mobile Phones, Tablet Computers, and Components Thereof, Inv. No. 337- TA-1038 (“the Investigation”) before the U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”), hereby moves the Court to issue, under its seal and signature, the attached Letter of Request to the Central Authority of the Republic of Korea. The Letter seeks documents and deposition testimony from Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., based in the Republic of Korea. The evidence sought by Nokia is highly relevant to the Investigation and unobtainable by other means…

Nokia seek help from Samsung to fight Apple in court

For these reasons, as explained in more detail in the accompanying memorandum, Nokia respectfully requests that the Court assign a Judge to this matter and issue the attached Letter of Request as soon as the Court deems appropriate.”

Nokia seek help from Samsung: Will Samsung reply?

Apple and Samsung have been fighting one another forever. They have filled many IPR infringement cases against each other. This should be a good opportunity for Samsung to make some damage to the US tech giant. But only time can tell what will happen next.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ Batteries leaked: 3000 and 3500mAh

There has been plenty of rumors and leaks about the most awaited phones this year – Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Now, images of their batteries have been leaked. Let’s see!

Galaxy S8 and S8+ batteries leaked 2

Galaxy S8’s battery smaller than Note 7’s one

Just last year, the South Korean electronics giant Samsung was confronted with a massive image problem and huge financial damage due to fire hazard of the company’s high-end smartphone Galaxy Note 7. Samsung was even forced to stop the production and all sales, as well as it had to recall its flagship. Now, the whole world is waiting anxiously for the upcoming Galaxy S8 mobile phone duo!

Samsung Electronics is expected to install a smaller battery in its new mobile phone S8 than in the faulty model Galaxy Note 7. According to recently leaked images, the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 will be equipped with a 3000mAh battery, the larger version Galaxy S8 Plus with 6.2-inches is getting a 3500mAh cell. In comparison, Note 7 owns a smaller 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display but has a battery capacity of 3500 mAh.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ batteries leaked

As per experts, a too high power density was responsible for the fires. That’s why, Samsung will probably install a smaller battery for reasons of safety, although the new flagship model will be equipped with more and better features than the Note 7. However, a 3,000-mAh battery is around 15 percent smaller than Galaxy Note 7‘s juice pack. That might be not enough to satisfy the smartphone users. Let’s see and wait…

Galaxy S8 and S8+ Batteries leaked

This next incredible series is said to be officially unveiled on March 29 in New York and London and the following day in South Korea. According to rumors, the Galaxy S8 price will start at €800 ($845), while the S8+ will be from €899 ($950). We will keep updating the latest information about it. So stay tuned!
