Surface Phone with 8GB RAM – Microsoft’s new Powerhouse

In December Qualcomm officially announced to support Smartphones with 8GB RAM with their newest Snapdragon 830 (MSM8998) chipset. Around the same time Microsoft officially announced, that Windows 10 Mobile will also support the Snapdragon 830 Chipset for their newest smartphones. Microsoft did not promote their last phones, the Lumia 950 and 950XL very heavily. In fact Microsoft Smartphones and Windows Mobiles in general had a very hard last year in terms of sales.

If Microsoft wants to turn the tides, their only real chance might be the introduction of a Surface phone 2016, ideally with 8GB RAM and a Snapdragon 830. According to newest reports, Microsoft might launch up to 3 versions of the Surface Phone in 2016. One Surface High Spec one with 8GB RAM, one entry level and one mid-level phone. If we could suggest a Pricing Strategy, we would love for Microsoft to follow the routes of the early Google Nexus Phones for their Surface phones. High Specs – and Ultra afordable!

If Microsoft actually would achieve to launch a Surface Phone with 8 GB RAM and Snapdragon 830 in 2016, this would surely sell like hotcakes. Admittedly they would need the right pricing strategy, to be successful. To make the Microsoft-Nokia debacle forgotten, Microsoft Mobiles need to really step up their game. A Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 might be the way to do so…

Microsoft Surface Phone Price and Release Date

So far there is only surface phone rumors and no official Surface Phone release date yet. If we have to guess about the Surface Phone Price, we would suggest Microsoft to go not in competition to Samsung and apple, but to implement a Google Nexus Strategy in terms of pricing. What do you think would you buy a Surface Phone?
