Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic may not be rebooted!
For a period of time, there have been talks about a reboot of the mega-successful game Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It all started because of a report from Unseen64 and Did You Know Gaming’s Liam Robertson. They both said that BioWare Austin is prototyping a new title, and it was about the famed Knight of the Old Republic. Robertson shared on one of his podcast that the studio, which recently developed the MMORPG The Old Republic, will revive the title.
At that time, Robertson said that it would be hard to imagine what the game would end up like. It seemed that the project started out as a remake/revival of some sort. However, it then kind of became its own original game. He did not reveal his sources, but the man himself has a good history of bringing out to light canceled video game projects. Something interesting is that, Drew Karpyshyn, the lead writer of the first Knights of the Old Republic game, rejoined BioWare in 2015, and is now working on an undisclosed project.
,@jenjen1936 Yes, but that's all I can say. Hell, I might already have said too much. 🙂

However, some new development has come up, and it seems that the acclaimed Star Wars game may not get a reboot or revival after all. Kotaku has reported that BioWare Austin did indeed developed a prototype for the game, but that one never received the green light for further development. Furthermore, there is a bigger and more important project going on, lead by BioWare Edmonton studio, and could be revealed at E3 this year!
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Revival unlikely
With all the new reports, it seems that a revival of the acclaimed Star Wars game is unlikely. It is disappointing, but at least there is the new project to look out for!
