Sony Xperia XZ2 camera
During a briefing on its new smartphones, Sony gave us some information on a future device and a new technology it’s working on, the Fusion Image Signal Processor. In details, the new Fusion Image Signal processor allows image capture in extremely dark conditions. To achieve this, Sony Xperia XZ2 camera will be capable of an as-yet unprecedented ISO 51200 for photos and ISO 12800 for video, (likely DSLR ISO levels).
On the other hand, the rear cameras not only shoot HDR video for even exposure and rich colours but do so at 4K resolution. Moreover, they shoot super slow motion footage with the resolution bumped from 720p to full HD. According to Sony, the camera firmware is in partnership with Qualcomm to optimise the images for better low light performance. Also, the 3D face-mapping of both cameras allows you to quickly create a 3D selfie.
Beyond the camera, Sony Xperia XZ2 specs received a much-needed design update. While previous Xperia had fat bezels, the new variant stretches the displays right to the edges of the phone. In US markets, Sony devices sport a fingerprint sensor below camera housing. Meanwhile, wireless charging finally showed up on a Sony Xperia XZ2, but not available on the Compact variant. Moreover, both handsets come with metal and glass with waterproof protection and no headphone jack (down to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes).
