This week, Sony has unveiled the Sony Xperia Pro-I, with a one-of-a-kind camera system. In detail, the “I” is a 1.0-inch camera sensor with phase detection autofocus. The company has optimized the lens which is usually found on the compact RX100 VII camera to work for smartphones. Furthermore, its pixel pitch can be 20% larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max and on par with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (after pixel interpolation). Besides, it also beats the sensor of Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with its huge sensor and 2.8µm wide pixels.
In detail, the Sony Xperia Pro-I camera carries a quad-camera set up on the rear. It comprises of a 12MP (f/2.0-4.0) + 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.4) + 12MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2) + 0.3MP and TOF 3D depth sensor. On the front, the latest Sony smartphone comes with a single 8MP lens with an aperture of f/2.0. Under the hood, the Sony phone works on Android 11 as the operating system. On the other side, powering the Sony Xperia Pro-I is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset.
Let’s come to the storage! This new Sony smartphone now sports 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage, expandable through a microSD card. Lastly, the powerhouse of the Sony flagship is a non-removable Li-Ion 4500mAh juice box via a USB Power Delivery. Notably, this phone supports 30W fast charging. Regarding the design, the Sony Xperia Pro-I specs feature a 6.5-inch OLED with a resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, it runs at 1096 x 2560 pixels except for particular use cases and uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
