At the MWC 2019 event taking place last February, Sony finally unveiled its brand new smartphone. Surprisingly, the brand has ditched the XZ name and given the premium handset a new name: Sony Xperia 1. Notably, this Sony phone is going to be the Japanese brand’s first device to sport a triple cameras system. Moreover, it offers the world’s first 4K 6.5 inch OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Additionally, the tall screen carries the exceptional resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels with 643-pixel density per inch. Under the hood, the Xperia 1 is going to take power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. As a result, we can expect it to support 5G network. On the other hand, this phone sports 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage. There is also a microSD card which is expandable to 512GB.
As for the operating system, the Sony phone should come running on Android 9.0 Pie version. However, there are also other sources mentioning the arrival of the new Android Q. Now, let’s talk about the photography setup! According to the latest report, the Xperia 1 is going to equip two 12MP Zeiss lenses out of the Xperia 1’s three primary cameras. Meanwhile, the remaining sensor should come from Samsung. On the front, the handset also packs an 8MP selfie lens. In terms of the color options, the Sony phone is going to be available in Black, Gray, Purple, White. Lastly, the Sony Xperia 1 battery packs a non-removable 3300mAh juice box.
