Sombra is the long anticipated hero of Overwatch. She has been rumored for a while already. Now, at long last, in the latest Overwatch update, Sombra finally joins the roster of heroes. Let’s take a look!
Sombra finally joins Overwatch!
Sombra has been teased way back before the Halloween event. The new hacker champion has been the hot topic of discussions for quite a long time. Now, Overwatch fans can finally rejoice: Sombra is now available inside the game. Blizzard has finally include the new hero in its latest update to the game, the 1.5 patch. Along with the new hero, there were also some notable and significant changes as well, with the inclusion of a new mode and the new ultimate skills cost.
Naturally, all eyes will be on the new hacker champion. According to Blizzard’s description, Sombra is a master hacker ho can hack er enemies, making their abilities temporarily unavailable. Furthermore, she can hack other items too, such as health packs and Torbjorn’s turret, rendering them useless for some time. She also has the skill Thermoptic Camo, allowing her to be temporarily invisible to slip past enemy lines. However, she will be revealed if she starts taking damage or attacking. She also has a Translocator, thrown like a grenade, and she can teleport to its location when activated (even if in flight). Such an interesting hero!
Two other updates to the game includes the addition of the Arcade game mode and the change to ultimate skills cost. The Arcade offers a variety of rotating game modes, which does not fit into Quick or Competitive Play. You can most certainly find a game that fits your mood to play, as they are alternating a lot. There are also specific Arcade rewards, too! The remaining change is the increased cost of ultimate skills, which has come up by 25%! The only exceptions are Mei, whose ultimate only increased cost by 15%, and D.Va’s “Call Mech” ultimate reduced by 20%. This should change the balance of the game quite significantly!
Sombra: An interesting addition to Overwatch
So with these changes, Overwatch just has a new interesting hero, and some balance changes along with a new game mode for casual play. This is indeed one big update for the game. Are you excited to try out Sombra and the Arcade?
