It can be said that Moto Z is the first smartphone from Motorola (Lenovo) is shipped with no 3.5mm headset jack. There are two reasons for this removal. They want to focus on audio quality and to make room for a larger battery. However, the phones is accompanied by a 3.5 mm to USB-C headphone adapter. Under the hood, it packs a 4GB RAM along with 32GB/64GB ROM (expandable up to 256GB). The phone sports a 5.5 inch display running Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 powered by SND 820. The smartphone is quoted at $375 with 32GB and $593 with 64GB.
Number 3: HTC bolt
The third number in this list is HTC bolt, which was just released several days ago in November. It is the latest phone with no 3.5mm headset jack. Thanks to the new HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio earbuds, the manufacturer can remove that headset jack feature. Different from other brands above, HTC didn’t give a official reason towards why they remove the headset jack. Regarding other specs, the phone houses a 5.5 inch display and packs a 3GB RAM along with 32GB ROM (expandable). It runs Android Nougat 7.0 powered by SND 810. It is available at $712.
Number 4: LeEco Le Pro3
The final smartphone in this list is LeEco Le Pro3. The reason reported from the company about their headset jack removal is to achieve greater clarity and quality of digital audio via the USB-C port. Under the hood, the phone features 5.5 inch display with full HD resolution. It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 powered by SND 821. There are two variants: 32/64 GB, 4 GB RAM or 64/128 GB, 6 GB RAM. All is non-expandable. You can get this phone at around $323.
