Skyrim and Fallout 4 on PS4 to finally have mod support – with conditions
Modding will be available to Skyrim first, with the Special Edition arriving on October 28. With the 4K rendering capability of the PS4 Pro, expected to be released in November, this feature promises great visuals for the said game. However, modding will have conditions – you can’t use external assets with PS4 mods. This will just be minor annoyances, since most mods works this way as well.
Bethesda, the company behind Skyrim and Fallout series, has gladly announced that the combined effort of the company and Sony has led to this outcome. Earlier this year, it is revealed that Sony had indeed blocked Bethesda om providing mod support on the PS4, creating some heated dispute. Despite all that, both parties managed to sit together to find a solution, and they eventually came up with one. And it is certainly one solution that gamers will welcome with open arms.
Regarding Fallout 4, Bethesda said that updates with modding and PS4 Pro support will once everything with Skyrim is set. The company has high hopes for this game, expecting it to fully utilize the PS4 Pro capabilities with 4K rendering, enhanced lighting and graphics. One more game to look forward to when the PS4 Pro goes on sale!
Bethesda and future mods on PS4
This is just the beginning, but Bethesda has given gamers hope for a better future on the PlayStation platform already. Contrary to PC and Xbox, this is the first time modding is present on the Sony’s exclusive console (earlier this year, mods have been available for Fallout 4 on PC and Xbox One). Mods were, are, and will be an important of Bethesda’s games. With this move, gamers can truly hope for better experience on both PC and consoles.
