In the past three years, India accounted for nearly 40% of all selfie related death worldwide, according to recent statistics by CNN. 19 out of all 49 selfie related death worldwide, happened in India.
Ramandeep Singh, just 15 years old, died Sunday in Ludhiana hospital after shooting himself in the head with his dad’s gun. Singh pointed a .32 bore to his head, while trying to take a selfie with this phone. According to Pathankot Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar, thats when the gun went off.
The bullet was still stuck in Singh’s head when he was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly after. The gun belonged to Sing’s father, who is a property dealer in India.
No Selfie Zones in Mumbai
The police force in Mumbai is reacting to the number of selfie death in india, by setting up no selfie zones in february. Those no selfie Zones are e.g areas without barriers close to waterways among others. Its quite a sad state of affairs, dont you think?
