When it comes to security, iPhone seems to gain more trust from the customers than Android devices. However, there is a correction from Google Security Engineer that Android is as secure as iPhone.
Android devices: Safety Net scans hundreds of devices per day
We often think that iPhone creates a friendly platform for app developers as well as many safe apps for downloads. With Android, we are offered more apps than iOS, however, some malicious apps can cause damage to our handsets. However, in a recent announcement from Google security department, Android is said to be as secure as iPhone. Android is integrated with the built-in security product called Safety Net. It can scans 400 million devices per day and inspect 6 billion apps per year.
Thanks to this security product, those bad apps can be spotted and removed. And in contrast to our common notion, a really small number of Android devices has malware or harmful applications. It is reported that less than 1% of Android smartphone has malicious apps. Back to the last year, a series of bugs known as Statefright was found and stated to cause harm the Android users. However, until now, no case is reported to be damaged by it.
It is admitted that Android security system has been improved remarkably, especially since last year. However, it should be noted that telephone carriers and phone manufacturers need to improve their update cycles. Besides, they also need to quickly adopt security patches to protect the devices as well as the customers.
Android devices: it is safe now
It is glad to hear that Android is secure enough. If anyone has the intention of uploading bad apps to the Google Play store or targeting a large number at the same time, it’s almost impossible now. In the future, Android promises to enhance their security level to protect the customers.
