Samsung’s foldable smartphone “Project Valley” set for January
Smartphones nowadays are amazing! They developed from a call-text device into a “smart” handset that can handle so many things in our life: internet, photography, work, study, entertainment, research etc. And they just keep becoming more and more awesome from time to time. What do you think if in the near future, your smartphone can fold in half just like a handy book? And of course, still “smart” and still go with touch screen. I mean, in the really near future, like in 2016?
Samsung foldable phone: foldable screen, smart and still touchable
Yes, such device is being tested by the Korean Giant : Samsung Mobile. According to SamMobile – the reliable Samsung rumor blog, the company will introduce functional foldable devices in 2016. Following that, most recent rumor even suggested that the first “member” in that collection will be a smartphone with plastic display. That is where the foldable smartphone come in, with a code name of Project Valley, and has already caught much attention over the internet the such unique idea.
It seems like that Samsung is actually testing the new foldable smartphone in China right now. There are 2 hardware editions being experimented: one with Snapdragon 620 and the other with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor. If everything goes right, it is very possible that Samsung Mobile will release their foldable smartphone as early as in January 2016.
Samsung foldable phone: what to be expected?
Some of Samsung foldable phone specs we know for now include: 3GB of RAM, a microSD card slot (is it their experience of how the public react with the Galaxy Note 5? ) and a non-removable battery. We don’t know further about this foldable smartphone battery capacity yet. However, by supporting both removable battery and memory card slot, Samsung foldable smartphone already has some benefits over others, especially when more and more smartphone producers tend to for-go these features.
For your interest, this is not the first time Samsung ever try on these kind of bendable smartphone screen though. Back in 2013, the Korean Giant tempted to demonstrate their Youm flexible OLED displays but did not succeed in really producing it.
