The competition in our smartphone industry today is always very intense. Smartphone producers compete against each other closely, and new trends are updated regularly. The numbers of units shipped worldwide or regionally, as reported after every quarter, is the best indicator to prove which are among the leading OEMs.
Samsung smartphones: doubling Apple iPhone in Global shipments
In that competition, the race between Apple products and major Android manufactures are especially high. In other words, we usually find Apple and Samsung on 2 ends of the scale, fighting against one another.
Strategy Analytics, a famous research firm has just published sales reports from Q3 2015. From that, Samsung sold 83.8 million units in the past quarter. Meanwhile, Apple only shipped 48.4 million iPhones during the same period. We can see from the figures that, Samsung smartphone shipments almost doubled those of Apple iPhone.
If you would like to know a bit further into the technical figures, Strategy Analytics also reveled figures about Samsung and Apple market shares. Going from July through September, Samsung had 23.% of the smartphone market globally. Comparing to Apple with 13.6%, we can see how much the Korean giant is leading ahead.
Samsung smartphones: what make their success?
According to the report, the majority of Samsung smartphone shipments in the last quarter were mainly mid-range unit like Samsung Galaxy A8, Samsung Galaxy J5 and Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (still:)
Despite lots of mixed feed backs, Samsung is still one of the most popular smartphone producers that have devices appear on most of the top smartphone lists. Explaining about this, I think this is all thanks to the wide variety of products Samsung manufactured: premium flagships, budget handset, camera-centric smartphones etc. You can find almost anything from them, literally.
Samsung smartphones: it is still growing!
Lately, their flagship Galaxy Note 5 won the title of “best smartphone display ever produced”. The beast also holds 5 spec records in the smartphone market that are not easily passed over. In order to prepare for 2016, Samsung is working on the upcoming Galaxy S7, with rumored Exynoss 8890 chip set and better camera than the Xperia Z5 by Sony.
