Samsung smartphone sales continue to top Q2 2015, followed by Apple
Samsung smartphone sales ranked first in Q1 2015, as reported. It seems the big company from Korea is earning a lot with its Galaxy series. That is why, after Q2 2015 and until this time, Samsung still tops the smart phone market. According to the latest report, Samsung and Apple are still the biggest companies.
The sale report in Q2 showing Samsung staying firm at #1
The sales show that Samsung has sold more than 72 million units, earning 21.9% of market share this year. While Apple has surpassed Microsoft to become #2 on the chart, Lenovo sales drop, making it fall to the 6th place.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales help Apple rise to #2 this quarter
Though Samsung tops on both feature phones and smart phones, their share on both market have decreased quite a bit. Although their flagships contributed much to the sales, it seems Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge do not attract the number of customers Samsung needs.
On the other hand, Chinese brands are making their place in the market. The growth of Chinese brands on this chart is high, especially when their products are competitively cost and high quality. As you can see, Huawei is now the 3rd largest smart phone producer. Xiaomi has grown very strongly to snatch a position on the list also.
Huawei is the strongest Chinese brand at the moment
However, as Samsung outs Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, will there be any changes in market shares? Meizu, Xiaomi, Huawei are also going to release many flagships this year end. Moreover, as iPhone 6s will be out as well, it seems the market share will be different after this quarter.
Price Pony readers, what are your guess on this year smart phone sales battle? Will Samsung smartphone sales stay on top or will Apple snatch it away? Will Chinese phone makers prevail more?
