Previously, we have reported about Samsung putting their focus on the foldable smartphone department. However, it seems like the Korean manufacturer is aiming for a non-traditional flagship which pushes the design to the limits. Based on the latest unveiled Samsung patent, we can see that they are taking a big step this time. In details, the Samsung patent now reveals a new handset which consists of the entire screen around. Notably, this Samsung phone reportedly comes with up to three displays!

On the other hand, this Samsung patent shows off four potential designs with similar characteristics. However, they all look slightly different from each other. Firstly, we can see that the model 1,3 and 4 all have two displays. Moreover, their bezel thickness is entirely different. With the first device, this Samsung model has the most futuristic out of the three. It has a tall display up front and on the rear. Also, the screen seems to be Samsung’s Infinity Display with no notch.

As for the type 3 model, it resembles a Samsung’s old design language with a 16:9 display panel and a physical home button. Interestingly, however, there is no front-facing camera on this device. Now, let’s talk about the particular “Type 4” handset. While having a selfie camera up front, the Samsung model has modified rear, which contains an all-screen design. On another hand, the type 2 prototype is also worth mentioning! Unlike the other devices, this Samsung phone makes use of three displays. In details, there are the two bezel-less ones up front and on the rear Besides, we spot a third one that wraps around the frame of the smartphone.

Can Samsung patent models become a reality?

For now, these Samsung patent is still the idea on the paper. However, if Samsung foldable smartphones segment fails to take off, these devices can be indicative of the direction Samsung wishes to take its current designs. Let’s wait and see what the Korean manufacturer is going to do with them!
