Samsung Galaxy X: fold-able smartphone is going to release in 2018
According to a new rumor from South Korea, Samsung is allegedly working on their first foldable smartphone ever, which could transform to the tablet. However, the schedule might be postpone to the first half of 2018, instead of by the end of this year as what we have heard before. The Galaxy X is expected to make a huge impact in the industry of smartphones, they will really blow our minds.
In order to produce the fold-able screen, Samsung Galaxy X will rely strongly on a material called “polyimde film”. It is a very thin and flexible material with high heat-resistance. From extremely cold to scorching heat, it could remain stable in a wide range of temperatures. And, according to some sources, it will be a key component in fold-able phones, due to its thinness and flexibility.
What we know for now is that the Galaxy X will feature the 4K display, some other features like The use of various bio-metric forms including fingers, face, and palm will be built in of the fold-able phone. An unnamed industry official said, “The prototype of the Galaxy X can [appear] this year, but the device will be commercialized in earnest in the first half of next year in consideration of a relevant components mass production schedule.”

Currently, Apple has already granted the license for a bendable phone and LG might also join the game.
