Samsung Galaxy S9 sales with dual SIM and 400GB ROM hit low record in South Korea

While Samsung expected sales of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus to keep being on top compared to the underwhelming Galaxy S8 last year, that might not be the case in South Korea this time around. According to ET News, sales figures from the top mobile carriers in South Korea show that Samsung has only sold 707,000 of the Galaxy S9 units since the phone debut in March. The sales went down from nearly 1 million units figure that Galaxy S8 saw during its first two months in the market.

Thus, making it the lowest number ever recorded for a Galaxy phone in its home country. To be more specific, a month-by-month breakdown reveals 476,000 Galaxy S9 units sold in March. But the number came crashing down to 231,000 in April. Similarly, the story happens to Apple, with the iPhone X also witnessing a dip in sales. Around 475,000 units of the device sold in the country in the first four months after the handset’s November launch, with February only seeing 70,000 sales.

Samsung Galaxy S9 release date and price

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy S9 release date was set in March 2018 with Samsung Galaxy S9 price tag of $890 ~ Rs. 57, 765. In the end, we believe that high prices and a lack of alluring new features are keeping consumers from buying the new flagship series from Samsung. If that is indeed the case, rumoured upgrades set to arrive in the coming months aren’t going to do much to change their faith either.
