Samsung Galaxy S9 duo comes with improved hardware and some cool specs. In details, this Samsung flagship harnesses the potential of their new optical sensor by offering a new digital health app: the blood pressure monitoring sensor. Furthermore, Samsung users can also measure the stress levels on the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo. This app also provides the users with a personalised insight to help them to improve their daily health.

According to Samsung explanation about My BP app: “My BP Lab leverages an innovative optical sensor available on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+.” The purpose is to provide users with richer, more accurate information about their health status. This optical sensor is built into the device, and allows blood pressure to be directly measured by the smartphone without any external hardware.”

When Samsung users open the app, they will receive an invitation to join a three-week research of University of California San Francisco. Also, this study tracks the stress and its impact on the wellbeing. Participants of the project have to report on their sleep, exercise, and diet. Moreover, participants also need to use the Galaxy S9’s optical sensor for blood pressure measurements throughout the day. In return, users can receive personalized and on-demand information about their stress and blood pressure levels. The study purpose is to optimize My BP Lab to provide “contextualized and scientifically informed feedback”. In addition, this research also improves the accuracy of the BP readings with real data from thousands of users.
