Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 to get “Always on display” feature
Always on display is not exactly the newest feature we see on smartphones. But it must the the newest piece of information to be announcing that both Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 flagships will be equipping the function.
Always on display coming to crucial flagships of 2016
A while after we first heard about Always on display being featured on Samsung Galaxy S7 through a leak from Evan Blass, Samsung has now trademarked the term to use for the their upcoming flagship, with will be soon announced at MWC 2016, happening on February 21 in Barcelona. The same thing comes to LG G5. A week before its initial debut, also at MWC, LG revealed that their high-end smartphone will be supporting Always On mode
The Always On/ or Always On Display mode allows notifications to be displayed on the screen without turning it on. Other necessary information like weather, calendar, or other as customized by users will also be “always” shown. Such function has been found in Motorola devices, Google’s latest Nexus phones and Apple iPhone before. And now, the feature is arriving on crucial flagships of 2016, like Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5.
By now, you may be wondering about the smartphone battery life. Would a feature that runs almost all the time drain out your battery fast? Don’t worry, both companies have confirmed that the Always On Display mode will ultilize minimum amount of power and won’t affect much to the longevity of your battery.
Always on display mode: making it more convenient for users
While on LG G5, a leaked has shown a picture of the Always On mode to give us an idea of how the feature will be working, Samsung hasn’t clarify whether theirs will be a full screen display or something smaller, like the of a LG V10’s secondary display. All in all, this is an interesting function that can make life even more comfortable for us all.
