Samsung Galaxy S10 processor gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset

There just a few days away until the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo flagships to come out. However, there are now leaked information about Samsung next project, Samsung Galaxy S10. According to our sources, Samsung just tooled up for mass production of the chipsets for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10. In details, Samsung claimed to make the plunge all the way down to the 7nm production node (costs around $5.6 billion).

Meanwhile, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset is the first to get a 7nm X24 modem and will be ready for mass production in early 2019. The source claims that Samsung has ordered at least 10 sets of Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment from the Netherlands ($140 million/piece). Thus, the 7nm EUV chips produced in Samsung’s new factory, albeit spared for next year, might be the most powerful rival against Apple’s 2018 iPhone.

The mobile SoC giant announced that Snapdragon 855 to be highly integrated connectivity chip providing 2Gbps 4G LTE download speeds. In details, the chipset is ready for the next generation of Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.1 standards. The Wifi tops the current 802.11ac champ in speeds and security but consumes up to 67% less battery. Meanwhile, Bluetooth 5.1 allows wireless earphones to work a full day on one charge. Besides, there is also zero stereo lag and audiophile quality sound available for cable-free buds.
