Samsung Galaxy Note Edge awes users with its unique and edgy display

At IFA Berlin this year, in addition to Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the Korean company also announces one of most interesting smart phone of this year – Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The Note series now have two impressive models with eye-catching features.

The most noticeable feature of the Note Edge is, of course, its screen. Its edgy screen. At the first glance, you can see that the screen of the Note Edge is curved at the sides. The Edge Screen, however, is not just for appearance though. It has a lot of functions that helps you a lot in controlling and saving power.

Let us say something about the phone’s main screen first. It is still a normal screen, with 5.6’’ in size and features a Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The resolution of this screen is 1600 x 2560 p, which is really impressive. With pixel density of 524 ppi, it can display images and videos more lively and fascinating than any other phones. You can say that Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is one of the best smart phone out there with its display.

2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is also there for screen protection.

Now with the 1’’ side screen and curvy slides. While the display is totally one, the side screen functions alone. However, since there is not many developers who design apps and features for this Edge Screen yet, right now there are only a few options to customize the screen. For example, users can add some shortcut app icons, a weather forecast and pedometer to the screen.

When the main screen is locked, you can further operate your phone with just the side screen. You can also control media playing on the Edge Screen. Things are easier and faster now with how you can manage your phone without sliding and unlocking it. And when you are watching a video, all of the settings are on the Edge screen so your video can have more space on the main screen. Awesome.

Developers are encouraged to create new feature for this type of Edge Screen. And maybe other company will consider copying this design for their phone. However, it is a bit inconvenient for left-handed users since there is only the right side of the phone that is curved. Samsung says people can just use it upside down, but what about the other functions and button?

Moreover, the Edge Screen also have some issues. While the phone fits easily in their hands, some users point out that if the screen takes up that much space, there will not be enough protection for the phone when it drops and it can be broken. Let us see how Samsung can make the Note Edge’s durability as high as other Note products.

Powerful smart phone with high configuration

Aside from the screen, Note Edge also has a good configuration which is the same as Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It will be powered with either a 2.5 GHz quad core processor from Snapdragon, or a 1.3 GHz and 1.9 Ghz octa core processor from Exynos. These CPUs are enough to create a powerful smart phone, running smoothly all of your applications and data. 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage are also a big plus.

Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with TouchWiz UI will provide a lot of colorful and lively looks and themes to your phone. Moreover, a lot of other features are to be available on Samsung Galaxy Note Edge when it is officially released.
