Samsung Exynos 9820 is the next SoC to appear on the S10 flagship
According to our legit sources, Samsung’s next-generation SoC will be the Exynos 9820 built using the 7nm FinFET process. As far as it concerns, the new chipset expects to feature the new Samsung Mongoose 4 CPU. According to Ice Universe, the Mongoose 4 will be more powerful and energy efficient than ARM’s Cortex-A-76 CPU. While ARM has said that the A-76 can reach clock speeds of 3.30GHz, there suggests that the Mongoose 4 will top that speed.
On the other hand, Ice Universe expects the Exynos 9820 to produce a multicore Geekbench benchmark score above 13,000. If the result happens, it will match the score of the Apple A12 SoC, which reportedly went through the same benchmark test last month. Besides, Samsung designs and produces its in-house chips. However, the A12 intended by Apple currently consumes 23% more energy than expected.
In general, that is not good news for iFans when the launch of the three new iPhone models is coming later this year. Whereas, the Exynos 9820 with the Mongoose 4 CPU would not arrive inside any devices soon. As we learned, the Samsung Galaxy S10 tenth anniversary model introduced next year can be the earliest option. For more information about Samsung Galaxy S10 specs and its series, check it out here.
