Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset comes in two Xiaomi devices

Based on what we know so far, XDA-Developers have dug up info on two upcoming Xiaomi phones codenamed Comet and Sirius. Moreover, they claim to use a Snapdragon 710 chipset, one member of Qualcomm’s AI-focused 700 series. In details, the new 710 chipset appears to be a rebranded Snapdragon 670. Furthermore, it seems to be a cheaper, downgraded version of the highest-end Snapdragon 845.

 

On the other hand, the chipset maker also claims to introduce this new chipset first on the two upcoming Xiaomi devices. According to our sources, the two devices code-named “Sirius” and “Comet”. As far as they concern, the two phones are mostly the same. In details, both devices have OLED screens with Always On Display and run Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI. Furthermore, these dual-SIM phones go with 3,100 mAh battery, an IR blaster but no NFC.

Beside the same processor, the handsets sports octa-core SoC and two Kryo cores (based on Cortex-A75) and six more cores (based on A55). Whereas, the significant difference between them is that the Sirius model expects to have a notch on its screen. Also, the “Sirius” device selfie camera will offer portrait mode. Meanwhile, the resolutions of monitors and cameras are unknown. However, we are sure that they would come with AI features due to the chipset.
