The chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 is coming and is about to be shipped with upcoming mid-range smartphones. Check it out for more details!
Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 specs
Qualcomm is about to release a new mid-range chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 for smartphones. This Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 specs include an octa-core system-on-chip (SoC) built on a 10-nanometer manufacturing process. According to a German website, the chip based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture. Snapdragon 670 consists of just two high-end custom Cortex A-75 cores used in the “big” cluster, and six power-efficient custom Cortex A-55 cores in the “little” cluster.
The two high-end cores are Kryo 300 Gold with a maximum clock speed of 2.6GHz, whereas the power efficient cores are called Kryo 300 Silver with a maximum clock speed of 1.7GHz. The lower power cores main purpose is to ensure longer battery life, with the performance cores kicking in as needed, such as when playing games. Furthermore, the new chipset also features three levels of cache, including 32KB of L1 cache and 128KB of L2 cache for each cluster, and 1,024KB of L3 cache for the full package.
Besides, the new chipset from Qualcomm supports display resolutions up to 2560 x 1440 pixels. When it comes to the photography features, the chipset supports a dual-camera setup including a 13-megapixel shooter and a 23-megapixel shooter. However, the maximum resolution is still not clear at the moment. Additionally, this chip sports Qualcomm’s X2x modem to pull up to 1Gbps (theoretical) speeds. The chip should also support UFS memory and the older eMMC 5.1 flash standard.
