The Black Friday is almost here, and any gaming platforms are launching their sales period. Sony is no different. However, they have run into quite an unexpected problem today: PSN down issue!
PSN down for many, causing serious issues!
PlayStation Network (PSN) is the platform which connects all of Sony’s services and devices. Players can manage their PlayStation account through this platform, and also buy games and other stuff Sony offers as well. With the Black Friday Sale coming (Xbox Live Sale has already started), the number of people coming to the site is expected to be very high. Sony has teased everyone about this sale period, and has prepared everything accordingly. However, something unexpected still happened.
In an unexpected turn of event, the PSN network has been suddenly down for a period of time today. The issues happened acrossed all devices, including PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. Those who use web browsers also had this problem. Basically, users couldn’t sign into their account, and games and apps did not launch. All areas of the PSN has been temporarily inaccessible, including account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Vue, and the PlayStation Store. The issue happens just after the Black Friday Sale went live.
Sony has acknowledged the problems, and has been trying to fix it. After a few hours, it seems all the services are up and running now. Now players can log in, play their games, and shop as per normal. This issue may be caused by having too many people access the site at the same time, and the server just crashed. Hopefully, we will not have to experience anything like this for the duration of the Black Friday Sale.
PSN down: Sony needs to be careful!
With the PSN down, many activities were halted for a long period of time, and that may cause loss for players, as well as Sony. Sony must ensure that incidents like this will not happen for the next few days. Hopefully, with how quick they fix the issue, we can count on them!
