PlayStation Now discontinued except on PS4 and PC!
Sony, besides producing games and consoles, also offers a very good subscription called PlayStation Now. It is available on all Sony platforms until now. However, that will not be possible after this year’s August!
PlayStation Now will be discontinued on all platforms except PS4 and PC!
PlayStation Now is the subscription service of Sony. It has been available on all platforms of Sony, from smart TVs, smartphones, to PCs and PlayStation. It allows users to access a wide variety of PlayStation games, without having to download to their devices. It is a very popular service of Sony and PlayStation consoles. However, it seems that the service will end on a number of devices and platforms later this year.
Recently, Sony has announce on its blog that the PlayStation Now services will be discontinued from August 15 this year. The discontinuation of the service will happen on these devices: PS3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV, Sony Bravia TV models from 2013-2015, all Blu-ray readers of Sony and all Samsung TVs. The service will also be discontinued on Sony Bravia 2016 models, but even earlier, on April 1 2017. After August 15, only PC and PS4 owners will be able to continue with the PlayStation Now.
Sony has shared that the purpose of discontinuing the service on a number of devices and platforms is to focus on enhancing the quality of service for PC and PS4. The company said that this move has put them in the best position to improve user experience and customer service. We can see clearly that these two platforms will be the main focus for Sony in the future in gaming. So now, if you do not own a PS4 or PC, you can cancel the subscription. For Bravia 2016 models owners, you should do so by April 1, while the owners of the remaining devices should do so before August 15, to not incur unnecessary fees.
PlayStation Now only on PS4 and PC: A big move for Sony
Discontinuing PlayStation Now on many platforms is a big move for Sony, and we can only see what they have planned for us. Hopefully, this will be the best for the company and customers. Are you using PlayStation Now?
