Clear ID fingerprint scanner: “twice as fast” as 3D Face ID
Synaptics, a US-based computer manufacturing company, has announced about the appearance of an optical fingerprint sensor in 2016. Today, they have finally released further information on the upcoming system. In theory, the fingerprint scanner will be put under the smartphone screen. For now, this set up carries the name “Clear ID FS9500 fingerprint scanner”. On the other hand, this fingerprint scanner only works on OLED display. Now, let’s check out how it works next!
Firstly, when you activate the Clear ID FS9500 sensor, it will use the panel to illuminate your fingerprint. Furthermore, Synaptics has claimed that their sensor can perform well under thick components up to 1.5 mm. This includes the screen protector, cover glass, and the OLED screen. Synaptics confirmed that this system offers the same protection as the FS9100 fingerprint scanner. You can easily sport this scanner on various flagships, including Samsung Galaxy S8 duo.
Synaptics also revealed that one of the Top smartphone brands on would introduce their flagship that comes with the Clear ID FS9500 fingerprint scanner at the CES 2018. For now, many fans are betting on the most awaited Samsung handsets – Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. However, Vivo also can be a potential candidate. Previously, Vivo and Qualcomm have teased about their working prototype in June.
