You must be familiar with some popular tips to maintain the phone battery life. However, everything has changed and technology doesn’t settle! Here are the latest tips to keep your smartphone battery healthy!
How to take a good care of phone battery life?
First, you don’t actually need to follow the common battery warm-up! I’m sure that many of you have heard that after unboxing a brand-new smartphone, we have to use up the battery and then charge the phone for 8 hours straight. That is no longer necessary. With current battery technology – Lithium-ion, there’s no need to do that because with or without that step, the phone battery life doesn’t change.
Second, keep your phone at a good temperature. Many of you may think that the lower the temperature gets, the better the battery is. That’s not true. Lithium-ion batteries heat up when they get charged, as a matter of fact. So if the temperature is too low, the charging process may be restrained! But it doesn’t mean that hot weather is good for phone battery life. When it gets too hot, not only the battery but also many other features may stop functioning. So the ideal temperature for the battery is 16 – 22 degree Celsius.
Third, preserve your phone battery in the right way if you stop using your phone for days. There are many cases when you are not going to use the phone for a long time. In that case, you may turn it off to save the battery. However, you must do this step before turning the phone off: use the phone until the battery is at 40-70%, then you turn it off and take the battery out (if it is removable).
Is wireless charging good for phone battery life?
Last but not least, wireless charging is NOT preferable! Most of you may think this is a convenient feature for phone charging. But the truth is this method is not good for phone battery life. Wireless charging is not efficient as normal charging, not to mention that they tend to heat up the smartphone, which is not good at all for phone battery life.
