We had some first imagination, specs as well as some renders of the next generation of the OnePlus One. While we expect the phone will come someday in the third quter of the year, it seems that we have to wait for a longer time.
According to OnePlus CEO who posted on his Weibo account today that he believes that the OnePlus One can still be popular for the second half of the year.
From that, we can think that the possible reason why the OnePlus Two will be delayed due to the company belives that the OnePlus One is still one of the hottest phones nowadays or even the half year of 2015.
Considering from the post, probably following Business Insider, OnePlus One is now on the eighth position of “the most popular device in the world”, chasing some other luxurious iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M9 and Motorola X.
From other previous reports, the OnePlus Two is expected to pack the latest Snapdragon 810, laser FingerPrint Sensor and QHD display. Instead, it might end up using still-unannounced next-generation chips from Qualcomm. There also keep the possibility that the company has decided to go with competing chipsets from the likes of MediaTek or Intel but that’s unlikely.
Some renders of the OnePlus Two
Moreover, the OnePlus Two will be probably shipped with a 5.5-inch QHD display. Under the hood, its phone is also rumored to report a 3,100mAh battery which is a small improvement compared to 3,000mAh in the OnePlus One.
If OnePlus plans to delay the OnePlus Two appearance to early next year, we could see something interestingly ahead. There will have a fierce competition between Xiaomi, Meizu and OnePlus with rumoredly upcoming Xiaomi Mi5, Meizu MX5 as well as OnePlus Two. We are excited about some amazing things during that part of the year.
