OnePlus Switch update lets you move app data to your new phone!
OnePlus has done us a favour again. Their new OnePlus Switch app now lets you move data from your old phone to your new OnePlus device. Keep reading to know how it works!
OnePlus Switch update
For starter, OnePlus Switch is an app which allows users to move their data from their old devices to any new OnePlus smartphone. The app has now received an update that enables transferring data, downloads and office files. It also means that one won’t need to re-download the apps and sign in their account again. Besides, the company has fixed an in-app repeated data issue and added a ‘System stability improvement program’. This allows customers to give feedback on the app’s performance.
With this new 1.2 update, it weighs less than 10 MB and one can simply operate the data transfer by scanning a QR code from the old device. On top of that, for the upcoming updates, customers will be able to transfer Wi-Fi connection history and camera settings as well. Unfortunately, there is currently no support for an iOS running Apple device, but it could be rolled out in a future. We’ll just have to see. On another news, rumour has it that the latest OnePlus OxygenOS 5 update system has faced some battery drain issue.
There’s also an issue with the phone completely shutting down even when the battery is above 50%. It works just as fine when you plug it back in, but it’s still an annoying thing. Furthermore, a few people have reported that they are also experiencing camera app freezes. In addition to the OnePlus 6 battery drain complaints, the same problem happens with the old OnePlus 3 and 3T as well. You can read more about it HERE.
The bottom line
It’s great that OnePlus took into account and fixed the data repeat issue with the Switch app. With the new update, the company aims to extend support to users who happen to use the app as a straightforward device backup utility.
