OnePlus Co-Founder: OnePlus 6 is not a guarantee for 2018?!
This November, OnePlus’s latest flagship release: OnePlus 5T has caught the attention of many users! Naturally, fans can expect to see the next OnePlus 6 soon. However, OnePlus Co-Founder seems to have the opposite idea: OnePlus 6 isn’t coming anytime soon! Read more about the news below!
OnePlus 6 Isn’t A Guarantee in the near future?!
Just this week, OnePlus has hosted a Reddit-style “Ask Me Anything” section for their newly launched handset. During the segment, Carl Pei (OnePlus Co-Founder) has answered a few questions from the crowd. Notably, a fan has submitted a question of whether or not we should expect a ‘T’ model every year from now on. Since for the smartphone users, knowing the launch pattern of a company helps a consumer plan their purchase and decide when they want to upgrade efficiently.
Unfortunately, Carl Pei was not able to give a definitive answer to the question: “We’ll make a second T device if there’s enough new technology that’s useful to our users. As of now, we still haven’t decided whether we have enough upgrades next year for a T device”. In other words, neither the fans of OnePlus themselves can probably guarantee if there is a OnePlus 6T coming next year. Or not until we can see more advanced and innovative technology rolling out next year.
Furthermore, this situation leads to another concern: whether the next OnePlus 6 specs will be similar to the OnePlus 5 or the OnePlus 5T? Currently, the OnePlus 5T has a high score in the hardware as well as performance. So perhaps we should look forward to the OnePlus 6T release, instead of the OnePlus 6?
What is OnePlus planning for 2018?
For now, it is safe to say that OnePlus will wait a while before releasing their next flagship. The OnePlus 5T is still running strong on the market. As a result, the company can take times to invest and develop a better flagship with more innovative technology. What do you think about this statement? Would you want to see a new OnePlus flagship soon, or wait a longer time for a better handset? Leave a comment to let us know!
