SHOCK: OnePlus 6 face-unlock got tricked by a photo, what happened?!

After Apple created the “Face Unlock” trend for smartphone security, various companies have followed it. Nevertheless, unlike Apple, most of them rely on the selfie camera and no additional hardware for a proper biometric authentication. OnePlus 6 is among these companies. Recently, OnePlus 6 security issue was spotted on a tweet. A Twitter user pointed out that OnePlus 6 face-unlock worked with just a photograph of a face of the owner.

After many updates for the system or battery saving mode, OnePlus 6 will once again have to think for a solution to this security issue. This issue also shows the reason why Apple jammed an entire Kinect in the iPhone X while Samsung and a few others use iris scanners. Let’ s hope that OnePlus company would fix this soon since OnePlus 6 is still a flagship with many other interesting specs.

In terms of OnePlus 6 specs, it sports a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED touchscreen with the resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. Besides, the phone is going to run on Android 8.1 out-of-the-box. Under the hood, OnePlus 6 takes power from the Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset. The smartphone goes with at least 6GB of RAM for the standard version and 8GB for the upgraded variant with 64GB/256GB ROM and no card slot for expanding. Moreover, there is also the heart rate sensor. For the photography system, OnePlus 6 camera equips a dual 16MP + 20MP rear snapper. Besides, the OnePlus phone also has a 16MP selfie lens. Finally, the OnePlus handset rocks a non-removable 3300mAh battery box.
