OnePlus 3 and 3T Android Oreo update: what’s new?
While in-display fingerprint scanner is the latest security technology, Face ID is still an outstanding feature of smartphones. This week, OnePlus Global Director Carl Pei declared that the company might include Face Unlock to the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T in a future open beta update. Previously, OnePlus 5 has already got Face Security system; now we continue to see the upgrade in OnePlus vs 3T.
Also, along with Face Unlock features, these Oneplus smartphones also receive Oxygen OS 5.0.1. The full update weighs 1.47GB. Furthermore, the Oneplus handsets also include Soft screen calibration. This feature dials the colour saturation compared to default mode when balance stays fairly cool (compared to the warm whites of sRGB). Besides that, OnePlus 3T also gets Airtel’s VoLTE, Wi-Fi hotspot device manager and general bug fixes and stability improvements.
Let’s take a look at the specs of these two smartphones from Oneplus. First, both Oneplus smartphones offer the same display with 5,5 inches and a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Moreover, these smartphones run on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821. One of the main difference between 2 variants is that OnePlus 3T offers two options for memory: 64/128 GB, 6 GB RAM (unexpanded) while OnePlus 3 comes with only one choice: 64 GB, 6 GB RAM. For the camera, they sport 16 MP (f/2.0, 1/2.8″, 1.12 µm) rear cam and 16 MP (f/2.0, 1.0 µm) front lens for 3T variant and 8 MP (f/2.0, 1/3.2″, 1.4 µm) for Oneplus 3. OnePlus 3T packs 3400 mAh batt, bigger than OnePlus 3 with only 3000 mAh.
