Samsung: sole supplier of OLED displays for next two iPhone revisions
OLED displays is a real concern for Apple, Just a few weeks ago, Apple lost the war of patent against Samsung in the court in New York for some of the phones it has been working on recently.

Apple is about to work with Samsung to manufacturer its OLED upcoming smartphones. Next year (2017), Apple will probably launch up to 3 differents smartphones, and it will definitely ask its biggest rival to produce dual-curved OLED displays for a bezel-less look for an alleged premium iPhone models. This technology Apple is chasing gonna feature on their next flat IPS displays. Besides that, you can learn from now that Samsung is the world largest and biggest manufacturer of OLED displays.
However, This is not officially stated by both companies, but we believe that Samsung might be the one to get the work done as it has a better experience in the production of the OLED screens. A new report by South Korean (BusinessKorea) publisher suggests that Samsung may end up as the exclusive supplier of display for upcoming iPhones for “at least two years.” Korea Herald indicates that Samsung Display could produce up to 100 million curved OLED displays for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8.
The South Korean company will reportedly supply flexible OLED screens, similar to the ones found in LG G Flex phones. And aside from the iPhone 8, Samsung Display is also expected to produce curved-edge OLED screens for the upcoming Galaxy S8. Apple might definitely end up contacting its rival for the job because it has been providing this service to some of the best smartphone makers in the world.
Will Apple deal with Samsung over the OLED displays?
Industry observers are reviewing this situation, if Samsung remains the sole supplier of OLED displays for iPhone upcoming flagships, its Display’s targeted profit will increase than expected, it will go up to $3.3 billion in 2017.
