Next week, Nokia will finally formalize the exclusive acquisition with HMD Global company for the development and production of the all products branded Nokia, from basic phones to smartphones or tablets in 10 years. Along with it, a new category has just been created on Nokia website, which officially confirms the return of Nokia.
Phone category is opened on Nokia website
In the late of 2016, we have witnessed many new Nokia phones unveiled. Nokia Pixel, Nokia C2-00 PureView, Nokia Ara belongs to low-end segment. In the mid-range phone, we have Nokia D1C, Nokia C1, Nokia Snow and Nokia E1. Nokia also introduced their high-end segment with Nokia Swan, Nokia 2017, Nokia 2017 ExpressMusic and Nokia Edge. Under the acquisition of HMD Global, Nokia is focusing on Android OS and most of their new phones will runs Android Nougat 7.0 paired with Qualcomm Snapdragon or Intel processor.
At the same time, on the home page of Nokia website, a new category has officially opened, Phones category. Finally, Nokia has officially confirmed their return to the market in 2017. Nokia fans now totally can soon get a Nokia phone on hands because their favorite brand will present not only feature phones but also smartphones and tablets. All rumors are becoming true!
Nokia also announced the deal between HMD, FIH and Microsoft. This eventually means Nokia Phones are back to Nokia official site and under HMD Global, which is Nokia’s new home. In an internal meeting, Nokia’s roadmap for new product launches has been leaked, showing the returning project of the company to the smartphone market. HDM Global will join in developing Nokia design, software development, product operations, and the production will be undertaken by Foxconn.

As announced on Nokia website, it is now official that Nokia will return to smartphones at MWC 2017. Brad Rodrigues, interim president of Nokia Technologies, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown around the world for the return of the Nokia brand to smartphones. The HMD Global team has the ambition, talent and resources to bring a new generation of Nokia branded phones to market, and we wish them every success.
