Nokia is going to acquire Alcatel-Lucent as part of its revival to the mobile phone business. However, what benefits will the merge bring to both Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent? Recent news show that the CEO of Alcatel-Lucent will receive around 14 million from this merge. Although the deal is not closed yet, it seems this is a wise move for Alcatel-Lucent.
Ever since the announcement, Alcatel-Lucent only has a few months to complete leftover tradings before all the business is taken over by Nokia. And Alcatel-Lucent CEO, upon signing this contract, will receive around 14 millions in bonus for over three years.
But as for Nokia, what benefits do the Finnish company get? As we all know, Nokia is coming back in 2016. However, Samsung is leading in this market. To get as much workforce and power back to their prime days the last decade, buying smaller companies is a good choice. Moreover, as Alcatel-Lucent already has cooperation with some Chinese firms, which is one of the largest markets, Nokia is going to reserve some upper-hand moves.
Whatever it is, Nokia coming back will make many other big names in the mobile world a bit uneasy. Let us wait until 2016 to see if any amazing flagship will be out, and if this merge proves fruitful for both companies.
