Nokia A1 Plus in the making

There are so many New Nokia smartphones that are already available or going to launch in 2018. HMD Global is waiting for the right time and the right opportunity of unveiling these Nokia flagships many fans want to buy. An exclusive leak by Winfuture.de has revealed that HMD Global is working on a flagship phone currently known as Nokia A1 Plus. According to them, the phone will reportedly come with all the features you’d expect in a 2018 flagship. First off, Nokia A1 Plus goes by multiple names in the leaked document.

All the names such as the A1P, AOP, and even A1 Plus Euro all refer to the alleged handset. In addition, FIH Mobile (Foxconn) will be in charge of manufacturing this Snapdragon 845 powered-device. The Nokia A1 Plus will also add to the short list of phones with an in-display fingerprint scanner. This means it will also have an LG OLED display since current in-display sensors can work with only this type of touchscreen. Unfortunately, there is no specific detail about the hardware or the camera specifications.

But the documents do say it has a “high-risk camera”. No matter what it means, we’ll pretend they mean some kind of high-end megapixels camera system. On another news, let’s take a look at the original Nokia A1 last year for comparison. The phone has a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels. Regarding the storage, it offers a 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD). Optics-wise, Nokia A1 camera bears a dual cam set up of 13MP + 5MP. For the OS, the A1 device runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with a battery pack of 4500mAH non-removable.

Nokia A1 Plus availability

The Nokia A1 Plus has been in development since February and was scheduled for a mid-year release. Due to production challenges, it will now launch in the second half. HMD Global is targeting the device at the European market first, so there is a chance they might announce it at IFA Berlin or at the least, a private launch in a major European city.
