Nokia 9: the next great flagship from HMD Global

Previously, we already witnessed many rumors and leaks related to the Nokia 9. Finally, we now have a confirmation on this Nokia handset. According to Chinese media, HMD is going to hold a product launch event next month in China on January 19th. Additionally, Nokia 9 will likely be the main highlight of the show. On the other hand, HMD Global is also introducing the popular Nokia 8 flagship together in this event. Furthermore, both handsets are going to appear with customized features for China market. Notably, they’re going to have special ROM versions with local services instead of Google.

Let’s check out what HMD Global packs in this Nokia flagship next! For the display, Nokia 9 specs consist of a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with Quad HD resolution (18:9 aspect ratio). Under the hood, this Nokia handset runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC chipset. Regarding the storage, this flagship offers 6GB RAM and two ROM versions: 64GB and 128GB. Moreover, two models are expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. Furthermore, this flagship is going to run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo, similar to its predecessor Nokia 8.

On the other hand, Nokia 9 camera system might come with a Dual 24MP camera with Dual LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics. Additionally, there is also a 20MP front sensor for taking selfies. Also, there might be an IP68 certification and an Iris scanner coming along with this smartphone. However, this handset won’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, for the battery, this Nokia handset draws a non-removable Li-Ion 4,500mAh cell and Quick Charge 4.0 feature. Of course, all the essential connectivity options are there, including Wi-fi, GPS, USB, Bluetooth, LTE, 3G, and 4G.

Nokia 9 Release date and price

As mentioned above, Nokia 9 will make its grand entrance to the market on January 19th. For the cost, Nokia 9 price is different for two versions. For the 6GB/64GB ROM model, it starts at $560 (~ Rs. 36050/CNY 3,699), and for the 6GB/128GB ROM handset, it’s $635 (~ Rs. 40878/ CNY 4,199).
