Nokia 7 is NOT coming to India, remains China exclusive!
After the release of Nokia 2 and Nokia 8, India market was expecting to see the Nokia 7 this December. However, HMD has bad news for Indian Nokia fans: Nokia 7 is NOT coming to India anytime soon!
Nokia 7 is not coming to India, what is the reason?
Previously, HMD Global has launched the Nokia 7 in the Chinese market. With the overwhelming response from the community, many fans are waiting for Nokia 7’s globally launch. But we have bad news for you! In a recent interview, Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer, HMD Global, set the record straight “Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India”.
Furthermore, he went on and explained the reason behind. According to Pekka, not all of Nokia phones are for the global audience. Thus, this might be the main reason why HMD Global has no plans to launch Nokia 7 in the Indian market. On the other hand, Nokia 8, Nokia’s latest flagship phone, didn’t make it to the US and China regions. On the contrary, India was one of the first international markets to behold the launch of Nokia 8.
Previously, Global HMD has launched the Nokia 2 for India. This handset is its first attempt to introduce a low-end Android smartphone to the mass market audience. Additionally, India has recently beaten the US to become the second-largest smartphone market after China, according to market research firm Canalys. For the record, HMD Global has launched four smartphones (Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8) in India this 2017. Moreover, Rantala says the response has been phenomenal: “We have gotten a great response to the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 8 in India.
Should HMD release Nokia 7 globally?
As India is an important market for Nokia, it is a pity that Indian Nokia fans won’t be seeing the Nokia 7. Should HMD Global change their minds in the future and bring this handset to India? What is your opinion on this? Leave a comment to let us know!
